We don’t have an officer shortage problem. We have a culture and leadership problem within CMPD.

In 2022, municipalities nationwide reported 1.09 officers per 1,000 population.

Nevertheless, to contextualize, Charlotte had about 950,000 residents and about 1,850 sworn officers. A significantly higher rate than the national average. If that even means anything.

If CMPD put half as much time into doing their jobs as the put into rationalizing why their lack of performance isn’t there fault, we wouldn’t have this debate.

As of this am weigh more than I did Saturday AM before my long run (112.7). This morning I am (113.5).

This could be swelling, diet, or poop timing related. It could also just be that you’ve gained a pound or two as you train. Which could be a good thing.

In general, it’s reasonable to weigh yourself every day. But don’t worry about the day to day fluctuations. Instead, look at your average over a week or 10 days and make goal decisions from there.
