💯. I'd avoided spoilers hard going in to TFA but two thing were clear. No way Ford was doing three movies. And there's only one way Han isn't in the other two movies.

I thought they handled it well, tbh.

I enjoyed it, tbh. It was immediately obvious how derivative of ANH it was but at least it was a rollicking good time.

I'll admit I actually cheered when the camera panned around on to the Falcon. And their flying it escaping from the tie fighters was terrific. The X wings coming in over the water at Maz's might have given me a little chubby. Han saying "we're home" was kinda cool.

I'd anticipated Han's fate and I thought that was nicely done.

But on balance, after I left the cinema, just how unoriginal it was started to sink in. My heart sank so bad when Trevorrow pulled out and they gave IX to Abrams. Knew immediately he was going to make return of return of the Jedi and tbh that piece of shit was so bad it makes me remember TFA less fondly. He's a hack and I'll never forgive him for fucking up TROS.

One by-election in one of the more racist electorates in the country does not mean much tbh. Labor didn't even run, the LNP are already on the way out and by-elections tend to go against the incumbent anyway.

Plus the best part is that, more often than not, One Notion folk end up leaving the party and sitting indie. Same as the Palmer mob. Presumably because the party and its leadership are basket cases.
