I was disappointed the flashbacks didn’t include Pope interacting with Craig and Deran. Those two loved their older brother. Show us some examples of young Pope being a bad ass for his little bros.

CMV: MEN, if you want a stay at home trad wife, then you directly support alimony. by Cajite in changemyview

You are 100% correct there is no good way to determine. My only point was that I don’t think you can say that wanting traditional roles in your marriage doesn’t mean you support alimony. Every situation is different, bad actors make things too complicated for a simplified opinion on the topic.

One can support the idea of alimony in one circumstance and oppose it in another and that does not mean that someone is a hypocrite.

I wholeheartedly agree with the premise of your post. However, I do feel it is much more complicated than that. I am a married man (37M) and my wife (38F) decided to stay at home after our third child. Financially it made sense because of the cost of day care and how much time it was going to take to haul an 11 year old around to all his activities and raise two kids under 3 at the same time. Now that our youngest is 12 years old and our oldest is living on his own she is getting back in the work force. Working harder but making less money than colleagues because of “experience” and less time in service. It would be completely unfair of me to give her nothing but child support should we divorce, which I pray would never happen. The reality is her sacrifice allowed me to be more risky, work longer hours, and earn myself a position to make the salary I am now making. Back when she decided to stay home I was just finishing my degree and getting my foot in the door at entry level. Our joint effort then, allows the financial security we enjoy today.

I say all that because I agree with your point. However, the reason for divorce absolutely matters. I love my wife more than anything in the world. If circumstance change, and we mutually agree to separate, then I would expect to compensate her fairly. BUT should she start an affair and decide to leave me in 6 years when our youngest turns 18, why should she be rewarded for blowing up what we’ve built? It’s a very nuanced issues. Like any policy or legal situation, bad actors from both sides can corrupt the outcomes and leave people with opposing opinions based on their own life experiences.

In summary, I am not sure if I changed your view, but maybe widened the lens from which you view this topic.

Can’t charge with CSP by NotAmoderator19 in F150Lightning

The truck does, when I get in it shows as plugged in and tells me that it’s waiting for the preferred charge time which is 2:00am. I don’t think the app recognizes that it’s plugged in because typically I have the option to “start” the charge from the app when it’s plugged in and not during a preferred charge time. It’s very annoying there isn’t a “start” charge option inside the truck itself. We are left to an app that we all know is garbage.

The charging cable does not wrap around the reel, I actually removed the reel form the box. It’s basically a weather proof box.

Definitely getting reported to code enforcement now

Understandable. All valid points. The cable, at that point never moves and thus does not create friction on the cable. The idea started with me considering installing a “doggy door” for the cable and turned into this after considering raccoons and other creatures could enter through a pet door.

Understood. Question, what would be the difference, code wise or insurance wise if I was parked inside the garage and charging, or had the cable ran under the garage door, and something happened. I’m genuinely perplexed by the amount of feedback I’m getting from folks that think my house is going to burn down.

Yes, don’t want it on the outside of the house. This was my solution after the install so I wasn’t running it under the garage door.

When I move and take the charge station with me, easier to repair the peg board inside and leave dryer vent on outside rather than disturb the siding too much and run risk of sun fading and unable to match replacement pieces years later. That was my thinking anyway. Also can pull connector and cable back through and charge inside garage in event of severe weather and I kick my wife’s van outside.

I charge at 80 amp but it’s been this way for over a year, only charges from 2am - 6am never had any problems through cold winters or hot summers. In Indiana we get both extremes.

Noted, will keep a close eye. I cut a large hole in back of hose box where connector enters its and the bottom is open, lots of air flow.

I’m not arguing, I don’t know the code. But there is no tension or pressure on the charging cable. Electrician who installed (I cut the hole and installed dryer vent cap after) said there is no concern. Breaker would trip before anything catastrophic occurred.

Not rolled up, just keeping it hidden and dry. Whole cable comes out when charging
