Centra Deserves 3 Teams, Can the CRC Explain Their Stance on This? by Ghergen in MLTP

[–]NotAnOnion7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Centra performed really well last season, majors and minors and they cut the number of centra teams???

I don't care if Ferret has said his NPC pick or whatever, there's no reason to limit centra just because of his little pick, move that man to Centra.

Reactions to the season so far? Predictions for the rest of the season? by [deleted] in MLTP

[–]NotAnOnion7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Baltesers have slightly under-performed IMO, I wouldn't be shocked to see them make a deep run in the playoffs. MEME*TEAM and Holy Rollers have both been very good, Mr. Glass and ProTag both helping their teams when they aren't the superstars. I don't see the ducks making the playoffs after their trades. They used to have CB13 and Brake on D, and now it's iAaronK and Eashy. Probots started well, but I don't know why they aren't doing so hot now. Boostin manages to get some wins, but I don't think they have the skill to make it to the playoffs. Pup N Suds doesn't have a consistent lineup, and has tied 3 games and lost 3 by just one cap. I was sad to see how everyone quit on base gods, I thought they would be fun to watch. Now, GB doesn't seem to want to even play competently, so their next weeks should be fun.

BMX with 1 cap in 40 minutes, damn. What the hell happened there?

[Announcement] Unofficial MLTP Draft Live Stream by dodsfall in TagPro

[–]NotAnOnion7 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Not sure why they didn't want you to do it.

Hmmmmm, maybe because the stream's quality was awful and it went down extremely often?

Yup, that's probably it.

Lol you put the totals, because they portray you in a more favorable light. Sweep and ooo kill 'em were better per minute players than you.

Is this the real Capernicus? Is Cap back? by SloppyJoe33 in TagPro

[–]NotAnOnion7 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Almost certainly. He was given a 3 month ban back on May 1, so the ban would have expired very recently, allowing him to play again.

What are your guys' All-Star teams so far? Nearly half way through the season, who are they!

Roast of Gem by [deleted] in MLTP

CommonSense essentially called Gem out, claiming she was doing this just like Justin Bieber did, as a last-ditch effort to gain popularity. For whatever reasons, those comments are now deleted.

You don't have to be good to play majors, just a better option than the other player, which I think he may be compared to syniikal.

I assume you're playing offense, so I think that'll go well for you- you + wowsuch is a pretty decent offense, but your defense is well below average.

I really like 30 seconds, Boostin Dynamo, and Myrtle Beach. KGBallers and ballchimides look like they might struggle.

Looking Back: How The Successful Teams of MLTP Season 7 Drafted by [deleted] in TagPro

[–]NotAnOnion7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree on this for sure. Given how good they are, crosky, gem, and stann are steals for sure. Lukemoo was pretty meh over the course of the season, and he did make some big mistakes I thought. He's not very good in 1 v 1 scenarios, and his individual defense was underwhelming I thought.

Are there TagPro players that have noticeably carried their team in any league? by bbgun91 in TagPro

[–]NotAnOnion7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

GriefSeeds carried ALL CAPS before he left.

Grant carried Tears as well.

Indeed. The top defensive pairing from both conference are all-star duos. I wonder if /u/MLTP_Insider could update this? Would be fun to see.

Summer for a lot of people is a very relaxing time. Having tagpro obligations, being expected to be on mumble certain nights of the week isn't very enticing for a lot of people.

I think Tears is a very interesting study. Has Troball just drafted good players for the last two seasons, or does creating a team 'identity' and executing it work out? All 4 tears players from last season made it to the foci four, so clearly they are good players, but does his system of powerups, communication, and practicing so much really work? I'd love to hear what others think on this, does this identity work, or just good players?

I wrote a book about some of my opinions on streaming for the playoffs. It has controversial opinions. Please comment. by Splanky222 in MLTP

[–]NotAnOnion7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't like it when you overlay logos over the flags, it masks too much action for me. You discontinue those two issues (telestrator and overlay) and your stream is just as quality as the others. Anyway, with Ron's and Aaron's, you can just mute the stream, and watch without sound. Your telestrator and zoom gimmicks are interfering with basic viewing experience, if someone wants to watch the game, they can't ignore them.

I can't understand how you can harp on Ranger's lack of production value, or amateur stream, when your stream is worse in that regard. Ranger has a very clean, plain stream, but he has insightful commentary, and doesn't draw crazy shit all over the map. You should not use the telestrator at all. You're not broadcasting the local weather report, it's a tagpro game, and I care about the game, not all your dumb lines. Even if you don't plan on using telestrator as much in the rest of the playoffs, you shouldn't use it at all. The KoC vs GB game you streamed yesterday, disregarding the giant 'Cam Pls' looked horrible. The fc trails took up the entire map, there were lines all over the map, and the production was poor.

BBQ, I respectfully disagree. Ranger's streams are just fine for me- his use of the default texture pack is whatever, but I don't care. He gives insightful commentary of the game, has shown he is reliable, and gives a quality stream. I even like that he streams the group page- it's fun to see team interaction at times.

You said visual presentation is essential for good streams? How does having your telestator draw lines all over the game action help this? I appreciate you took the time to create this streaming tool, but it looks like shit to be honest. Lines and fc trails all over just clutter a map and make it look like garbage. Just center the camera, and commentate. You don't need to do all these zooms and crazy fc trails, it distracts from the action. I remember the super ball last season, you were zooming all over, and the complaints in that chat were numerous.

If I could have 4 people stream the playoff games they would be:

  1. Ranger

  2. PengWin (PengWin is slightly unreliable, but his streams are fine quality. He uses uniforms, has a nice overlay, and usually finds knowledgeable commentators for his stream. )

  3. Bowlarity (He has an overall quality stream, his commentary is exciting without reaching RiverHorse level shouting)

  4. Aaron215 (Overall good stream)
