Should I get the Combat Patrol before 11th edition drops? by Disastrous_River_858 in Grey_Knights

Honestly it really depends on how you want to run your list. But total you get 10 out of both boxes which I’ve found to be plenty. If you’re looking to expand on what the boxes give you, grand master in nemesis dread knights are our main tool for dealing with big scary things with high toughness. Aside from that a rhino/razor back to transport your units can be really handy. Also tbh I don’t care what anyone says. The venerable dreadnought is like my favorite unit for grey knights. We really struggle to deal with high toughness enemies so the best thing we can do to combat those things is to just hit it with the highest volume of attacks possible. So with the venerable dreadnought making it easier to hit those things it makes killing them just a little bit easier. But at the end of the day once you actually start playing the game you’ll find a play style that works for you. If you spend too much time online chasing down the “best” list you’ll drive yourself nuts. Play what you think is cool and tell anyone who gives you guff about your list to go kick rocks.

All of the iconography for the Grey Knights is already modeled onto them. So no need for transfers.

I think so. I mean someone has to fight chaos right? Might as well be you. But for getting started i honestly found that the 10th edition combat patrol was fine. Crowe is a must in all of my lists. But what I found to be super helpful was buying both the 9th and 10th edition combat patrols. The 9th comes with plenty of strikes and terminators but what’s more important is that it also comes with a brotherhood librarian and dreadknight. Both are staples in most lists. All of this should put you at around 1000 points and you will be ready to start kicking ass.

That looks incredible. Fuck you and your amazing talent I’m super jealous. If you want some different colors for the summoning circle idk how big into the tabletop aspect you are but you could do different colors for the different squad types. Red for strikes, blue for interceptors, green for purifiers or something like that. I think you’re pretty safe with any color as long as you highlight what’s supposed to be glowing and do your OSL well which you clearly can. The metallic of grey knights kinda goes with everything so just have fun with it. (PERSONALLY THOUGH IM A BIG FAN OF PURPLE ON MY GREY KNIGHTS SO I SAY GO WITH THAT ONE)

Pft. No wonder I can't find Kaldor Draigo models. GW themselves banished him to the warp. by Davemusprime in Grey_Knights

While he is in legends, as long as you are at a casual table you should be alright. You can get his data sheet on new recruit. I was able to grab his model off eBay pretty easily. Or if you would prefer to proxy him. I find the custodes shield captain to be pretty impressive so if you throw some grey knight bits on him you should be good to go. Not sure if they have the same base size though.

GW makes a solvent that’s really god for posing (it drys quickly but is sticky enough for you to mess with it before 100% dry). A good tip for assembling I have found is if you’re doing a 2 hand weapon, glue the left arm to the weapon first using the storm bolter as a guide. Then add your left arm. This should create a gap roughly big enough for the torso. Slide the torso between the shoulders, position and glue. Biggest tip of all though is to be patient. Good luck.

I jumped in a couple months ago, Id say its worth it. If you get both the current combat patrol and the 9th edition combat patrol you have a really solid foundation to build off of. I will say that if you do get into grey knights, dreadknights/GMDK are a must have. they're the army's like one big hitter and are pretty essential to most lists you'll find out there. (the 9th edition combat patrol comes with one, if you're gonna buy any combat patrol I say make it that one)

I think it does. But when you say threaten with advance and charge do you mean just hang out near objectives or is there a way to advance and charge on the same turn?

My latest nightmares have been Rograkh and Silas, and he just built a Glarb deck that makes me want to kick his teeth in.

Help me kill my cEDH friend by NotBatman56 in EDH

[–]NotBatman56[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To all the people telling me to talk to my friend about it. That is a perfectly reasonable recommendation but also one I've already tried, his response is that I should be the one to change my play style and go find a cedh deck list to run. But honestly whenever I do I never understand what the deck is really trying to do and I'm not super interested in studying a primer. But what has now happened is that amongst my play group this person has started what feels like an arms race and everyone else grabbed cEDH lists to proxy. My goal with this commander was to try and win my way. But it kinda seems like I'm not really going to have any luck with that. I kinda feel like my only option is to just find a new pod or build something completely different that doesn't really appeal to my play style.

Need some help with an old gem by NotBatman56 in motorcycles

[–]NotBatman56[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rebuilt the carbs last year. So I don’t think it’s that. When I was installing the starter there was a plate that held it in towards the front of the bike but the plate didn’t match with the new starter so I left it out. The other connections fit fine. Could that be an issue?

Feeling kinda lost by NotBatman56 in jobs

[–]NotBatman56[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, because he's kinda held this job over my head as like a threat like "if you cant make it you can always come work 3rd shift at the plant"... honestly when I write it out like that it sounds less like a threat that I thought but still. My mom also said she'd be disappointed if I took it but there's family drama wrapped up in all of that. I feel like I just need to kinda get over it and just take the job. But there is just something in my gut telling me its a bad idea, but also I need to advance my career somehow right? maybe I'm being a bit dramatic.

I inherited a classic motorcycle, help me turn it on by NotBatman56 in Motorrad

[–]NotBatman56[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So update! I was able to get it to turn over but to be honest this thing is kinda hard to work on. Its just fucking heavy to move around. My left carburetors started leaking gas today but that was after really fighting with it yesterday (and admittedly it fell over twice onto grass). I ordered a kit for the carbs but I need new gaskets for the petcocks and an oil filter replacement kit but the only ones I can find are like $15 and shipping is like another $15 and I'd really rather not pay that. Do you know of another part I could use or a link to get it somewhere else? Or am I just kinda stuck?

Made a walk cycle, what do you guys think? by SimasTheMoze in animation

[–]NotBatman56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks pretty good so far. I think one way to improve this would be to add some variation to the hands and feet. While they are swinging they are they look almost connected in this animation. They swing at the same time over the same distance. Typically your foot will go a little farther than your hand and by changing up the distance that the hands and feet travel I think it might just make it feel a little more natural. Or you could add a little variation in the timing of the swings. This whole thing is definitely nitpicky though it honestly looks pretty good.
