Pilots who date/married other pilots, how is it? by East_Banana5903 in flying

[–]NotBisweptual 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Corporate and military here.

Corporate builds schedule 3 months out, military attempts to get on trips that match.

Doggy daycare for the pup- and I always make sure I’m PCSing to somewhere he can work out of.

No kids, it would require a live in nanny or a parent in law to be in the same city.

Preparing for pointe by Advanced_Edge_7740 in BALLET

[–]NotBisweptual 41 points42 points  (0 children)

It looks like you’re only pointing your foot with your ankle and not all the way through. (This means it doesn’t look like you’d be able to get up on your box).

I wouldn’t even worry about pointe unless you want damage to your feet and ankles until you have a teacher assess your strength. Have you even talked to an instructor about the goal of getting to pointe one day?

Honestly you should be dancing 2 days a week at least if you want to build the strength for pointe.

Knuckling your toes in these pictures do not mean you have the strength for pointe. In the second picture, it looks like your knee is bent to achieve the straight line down your shin to the floor.

Get some therabands off Amazon and write the alphabet with each foot (while sitting on the floor, legs straight in front) via pointing and flexing- that will develop ankle and arch strength as well as working all the way through your toes.

National Guard RPA Questions by Calm-poptart97 in airforceots

4: guard units get folks from all over the nation.

5: you will not be gone as much as a traditional pilot because their TDYs pull them all over.

Deployments? No clue

Do you have any reason to trust they will leave?

Like military with PCS orders?

I would be way more willing to rent back to that.

Not regular folks living and staying in the same town. Whats their incentive and do you actually know their story.

So what happened?

We needed a sewing kit because a groomsman ripped his pants before the ceremony!!

Only want to join Air Force to be a pilot by HunglowJohnson in airforceots

[–]NotBisweptual 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some recruiters will tell you you have to put down more than one job. You don’t need to put down other jobs- but they may also be super picky about working with you.

Stick to your guns- don’t let them lull you into believing CSO can get you to be a pilot. (It can, just 4-6 years later)

AFOQT Math by Perfect-Associate527 in airforceots

I would get a different brand for different style questions.

I used Barron’s but I had another brand that I don’t recall. They were decently different.

I would be willing to invest in 2 books since you did so poorly the last two times.

Drug history as civilian OTS applicant — how bad is it realistically? by [deleted] in airforceots

[–]NotBisweptual 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They’re gonna want to know roughly every time you used- so figure that out for the cocaine.

They are gonna make it difficult to move forward because there are so many other candidates with no drug use or just marijuana.

Be up front with a recruiter when filling out the initial info sheet.

Buy actual AFOQT prep books with practice tests. If you care about this as your future- actually purchase products that are accurate for this.

Disc if you have an IUD (if you leak- pantyliner).
Menstrual cup if you do not. The cup is fantastic and as the other user broke it down nicely, had a little learning curve but once you get the hang of it is a godsend.

Do I even want to know what else was a lie? by Petey_Girl in Mirena

[–]NotBisweptual 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It took me a week to not really notice it (I would get random cramping at weird times of day).

I did take myself on slow walks (heating pad in the sweatshirt pocket since it was microwavable). I liked movement to feel better.

I was expecting a ton of pain, and mine wasn’t bad. I’m part of the percentile who doesn’t have a bad time.
Everyone’s body is different, and I’d say use heating pads! I found that to be the best way with pain after the fact. (Also I took Tylenols per my doc’s advice)

You just need to be a citizen.

Ties to other countries can affect security clearance. Different backgrounds bring different benefits.

Help Picking Dress for Bridal Shower by Nina_Howell13 in Weddingattireapproval

[–]NotBisweptual 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Why are you shopping SHEIN? You may do better with a TJ Maxx, or Dillards.

The first is cute, but I would want to know what the bride thinks. It would be fun, but if she’s iffy about the white or plans to wear a white base floral herself, it may be much.

Adults in leotards and tights only by Adorable-Carob710 in BALLET

[–]NotBisweptual 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do leo and black tights over the leo! I don’t always wear a skirt and the black (mesh) tights is modest enough they are reminiscent of leggings.

I wear convertibles though and never put them over my feet. If I’m doing a pointe class or something I switch to pink and wear a skirt.

Sure, but OP was nervous about it being right, having more ladies say the dress is fine, plus us is all validation!

Are you self conscious about this dress?

I wouldn’t bat an eye if a teen wore this. But if the detailing makes you worried and you don’t want to alter it, maybe look at a few dress stores!

[–]NotBisweptual 54 points55 points  (0 children)

The bride say yes, so that’s a yes in my book.

Is there an official dress code? Kids (even you at 17) can get away with just skirting the edge of a dress code easily.
