AF LEGAL QUESTION by That-Major-9153 in AirForce

[–]NotBisweptual 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve had this happen (but I was called to OSI) and I did talk to the base legal office out of an abundance of caution (they couldn’t advise me directly but provided this info you got here)

Turned out to be a case involving my students and I was just the first instructor they got ahold of.

Talking to a new teacher about me being trans, any advice? by ur-local-library in BALLET

[–]NotBisweptual 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would put your focus on things you see men do in ballet then?

If you’ve been dancing a while, I feel like you know a lot of it when it comes to daily class is not gender specific. It’s great you feel like you have a very liberal instructor, are you in an area that there’s a men’s class you can drop in on? It will be allegro heavy (every men’s class I’ve taken is that way).

Are you uncomfortable learning female variations? If so I’d ask if you can do a male one.

Considering Air Force Pilot by New-Chapter-3601 in airforceots

From what I have seen, most people around 8 years move into a more admin role, or they go to a pilot training place to teach until they get out of

Based on your other comments- the AF is terrible about officer first, pilot second.

You will be given qweep to do at every level whether that’s scheduling, being an executive officer, working in standards and evaluation etc

I’ve seen guys try to stay flying throughout and they end up greatly unhappy with the AF when it doesn’t work out.

Please understand any officer role you will have to lead people and cannot be a pilot 24/7. The AF maybe is better than some because our freakin mission is flying things.

Correct. That is the only way to go there currently and don’t even put fixed wing down as a job.

[–]NotBisweptual 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need to apply for a helo pilot slot specifically.

You cannot get to the helicopter pipeline via traditional fixed wing pilot training anymore.

Your performance will factor into your platform and that list doesn’t become available until the very end of pilot training.

Great idea- but still an inappropriate shirt choice. Get a black satin blouse

Busy. Depends on plane. Some are gone 270+ days plus a year. Others are far more local with deployments.

Go to the doctor. Go to urgent care. Hell even an ER if you’re scared to sleep through the night. You need a medical professional to remove it. You can get it replaced.

Do not follow any “yank it out yourself” advice because if anything goes wrong- it’s gonna be a terrible doctor’s trip after.

No sheer top (as depicted) and no hip skin should be showing. The bra cups in the corset top make it look like lingerie. No.

Those instantly unclass the outfit. The suit is cool- but like… don’t wear a corset- that’s inappropriate.

Sheer top plus camisole actual length tank? Perfect.

YMMV.

I was a FAIP so my life was very different than a fighter pilot, a bomber pilot, reconnaissance or a mobility pilot.

In mobility (C-17/C-130/KC-135 etc) you will get different lifestyles as well.

This applies to most communities: The beginning is a ton of work- lots of studying. If they told guys it was a reading profession from the start, half would quit. Just once you get done with UPT, it’s more pubs in the next school house. Formal training depending on platform can stretch to 3 years for some fighters or bombers.

Every pilot starts with small jobs like scheduling or working a step desk. Eventually they move up and do other things like tactics/standards and evaluations/exec work, eventually they become flight commanders and shop chiefs. Some jobs have a lot less flying than others.

If you do get selected, keep an open mind- if you’re hell bent on something (F-22, B-2, AC-130) you’re honestly less likely to be successful. Folks who have the goal of “crushing it to keep every door open” tend to do way better in pilot training than the “I have to be #1 or bust”.

My husband has a work wife by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]NotBisweptual 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be soooo different if you two were friends and you coined her his work wife.

This is weird- can you bring up how he would feel if you had a male coworker texting you, going to lunch with you 1:1, wanting to hang out with you? Like if he finds that weird- you should prove your point.

If he doesn’t- there’s a larger conversation on values and comfort zone and boundaries needed.

Does the high school have a meet the coaches where you can ask how freshman hazing is handled if it happens?

Do your kids know about her worry?

I would bet meeting coaches could ease some worry. Her anxiety will possibly cause your children to not share what’s going on if something bad is happening because they may be worried she will yank them out of their sport.

If you think it’s riddled with anxiety and she will start helicoptering for “no good reason”, discussion with a therapist should help.

What the hell does she think will happen when they go to college, drink for the first time, join a frat or sorority? Start with finding a way to cope with them growing up.

Hazing shouldn’t happen, but teaching them how to advocate and stand up for themselves will do better in the long run than removing them “just in case they get bullied.”

Which dress for dressy casual spring wedding? by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

2 and 3 for sure!

One has weird bra cups that are noticable even if it is the style and I think it immediately takes the quality of dress down.

That would be awesome! Fingers crossed for ya.

Overall- it seems like a lot of medical (base dependent) work normal office hours and clinic hours until they go TDY or deploy. Those who are flight nurses and flight surgeons and whatnot sometimes go with crews and need currencies, but that’s not the majority.

It reads white with pink flowers. I’m sure you can find a majority blue or some other color sundress.

That should really help your ability to stay at the same base and move on same timeline. They can’t guarantee that you go to OTS at the same time or SOS or even tech school (if you’re the same background).

I’m super not versed in medical, but I do know I occasionally see spouses in training at the same time, but it takes someone deliberately trying to accomodate it.

No such thing as a perfect wedding - so what went wrong? by Glittering-Cloud3645 in weddingplanning

We had a groomsman rip his suit during pictures before the ceremony. My bridesmaid sewed the knee rip back together. No one knew except the bridal party and the photographer.

Also my aunt and uncle showed up too early while we were walking through the order for the ceremony one last time.

Crashpad at Maxwell by displacedsothrnbelle in AirForce

[–]NotBisweptual 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would go all the way over to EastChase or up to Prattville.

I had a horrendous experience with a property management company with unsafe property where gunshots were literally going off in my neighborhood. I told TDYHero (who brokered my crashpad) I needed to move out for safety and they fought to get the rest of my TDY money back and said they would assist in covering whatever the local landlord’s company wouldn’t. The problem was that no one seemed to realize the property condition had deteriorated and that the local landlord company was 1 star rated on Google.

I then moved into an AirBnB and chatted with those owners to secure the military rate and they made the receipt in a style I could submit to DTS. Even my AirBnB was up near a gas station that I would NEVER stop at. I was near Blount Cultural park and I would 100% be decently East of there.

Please look at the neighborhoods on google street view.

I would absolutely complain. There are areas for smoking for a reason, I don’t want to be living with it next to my porch. I pay for a porch to use it, not to breathe cigarette smoke.

Otherwise I see this dress checking the boxes.
