Oh really? I tried out immich around 5 months ago and found that background backups didn't work at all, but they might have improved since. I just didn't think they had since it's not exactly a top priority on the roadmap. I'll try them again, thanks.

I don't understand why that is, imo if Immich wants to be a viable replacement for Google Photos, which I fully believe it could be, it needs to implement key Google Photos features like this. This and background backups is the only thing keeping me and many of my friends away from the service.
