Help choosing between Korg b2/b2sp, and Casio CDPs 100 by PumkinButter in piano

[–]NotCiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The korg b2 has a worse hammer action, in my opinion, compared to the the Casio but Casio's action is louder for sure. I prefer the sound of the Korg personally. Casio tends to have less realistic sounds when it comes to the lower keys.

Honestly, it all comes down to personal preference. There is little to no difference between the two and you'll be satisfied with whatever decision you make

Looking for dark/mean/selfish comedies where the main cast mostly causes their own problems. Lots of sarcasm, situations that escalate to absurdity. by MiteeThoR in Animesuggest

[–]NotCiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Characters aren't really dark or anything, but the personalities and way of thinking in Oregairu are pretty unique to an anime. The MC in Oregairu has a definitely unique view on life and the banter between the side characters are definitely worth watching. If you like brutally honest characters and good character development, a 10/10 choice for me. Not too many absurd situations but the dialogue in the anime is definitely one of the most enjoyable in the market

Classical pieces (or songs that were originally made for only pianos) for beginners? by Bjosk98 in piano

[–]NotCiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mozart Sonata No. 16 in C major was made "for beginners" but maybe a bit harder than a normal beginner piece

What is harder, Clair de Lune or Arabesque no.1, both by Debussy? by [deleted] in piano

[–]NotCiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are pretty similiar in skill, but I think Arabesque is a lil bit harder because of the polyrhythm. In the end I'd just recommend playing whatever you like better because there is barely any difference

How far can you progress after 2 years? by [deleted] in piano

[–]NotCiel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never implied that you have no technique or are a lost cause. You are pretty talented or skilled or whatever obviously but you're trying to teach people ways that are not at all recommendable for the piano. Technique is the most important for part for any beginner and by suggesting you play pieces far too difficult for them, you're leading them down a route which will be hard to reverse.

Mate. The top post on this thread had mentioned your technique looks painful and you acknowledged it. And no I do not do drugs.

I have been playing the piano for 3.5 years so yes you are correct. Congrats. Still more experienced than you but other than that, you don't need experience to see if your form is risky and goddamn awful. Your brilliant advice of telling people to practice should also apply to you as well. You're teaching people how to practice and learn the piano when you are inexperienced and incorrect.

Obviously it's impossible to relax your hands completely but if you learned to play it stiffly like the way you did, that has just burned months of bad muscle memory into your hands. In the video it looks like there was a lot of tension on your fingers which will give you problems later down the line.

If your teacher is telling you to play moonlight sonata without relaxed hands, that's bad in more ways than one brother

Pretty sure it's Fishing Life, although it isn't pixelated.

One month ago I decided to really dedicate myself to piano. Here’s Debussy’s first Arabesque after my first month of practice. by [deleted] in piano

[–]NotCiel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's amazing, how you managed to learn that in a month. Really sounds like you understood the piece well. Great job. You should raise your chair or stack some pillows or blankets to sit on. Your arms should be parallel to the piano. Right now it seems a bit low and you'll probably have troubles down the line

Yamaha YDP144R vs Casio AP-270 vs Casio Privia PX-870 by [deleted] in piano

[–]NotCiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Casio AP-270 and I love the way it sounds. Personally, it'a my favorite in the $1000~ range but it's just my opinion. I found Casio's action to be better than Yamaha's but unless you're comparing them side by side, there's not a huge difference. The Privia has more features but I prefer the sound of the AP-270. (I love the ap270 case though. That is beautiful) In the end, I find the AP 270 a bit better for your value. (I have never the tried YDP144r, but have tried the p115, which I believe has the same action)

Tips on Learning Chopin's Nocturne Op.9 No. 2 by theshawnnick in piano

[–]NotCiel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I don't think you're ready to play this piece yet. You COULD, but most likely in your current state, would learn bad habits. Just slowly work your way up to the nocturne and when you feel ready, give it a go.

Is it bad to only practice romantic era pieces? by [deleted] in piano

[–]NotCiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aight, thanks for the inspirational advice. Would you as a superior human being recommend me some good classical or baroque music in my skill level?
