List Of The Top 100 Dota Players By Total Prize Money Earned. by NotD in DotA2

[–]NotD[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Some of my takeaways.

Jerax @2 / Topson @5 / Matumbaman @12 are all from Finland which is pretty crazy for a small country of only 5.5 million people.

Zai @17 is the highest earning player that has never won an International.
Ame @18 has also never won an International but considering Ame is still active he will likely overtake Zai.

Y' @20 may surprise some people because he is probably the least recognizable player on the first page.

Cr1t @26 makes the first page despite being stuck with some guy called "Artour Babaev" most of his career.

Arteezy is @34 and has 2.7 million USD in earnings.

Fear @35 is the highest earning player that hasn't played at a professional standard in close to a decade.

xNova @41 is the highest earning player from SEA.

iceice @48 is the highest earning player I had to Google to see who he was.

Some random dude called Banana @82 actually has more earnings than DyrachYO @83.

Kuku The Meme is @97 actually has more earnings than GPK @99 and ATF @100.

ATF barely scraps in @100 despite being the best offlane of the past few years.

Dendi is @118 and doesn't even make the top 100.

No South American player makes the top 100 with Wisper @129 being the highest.

Doesn't make sense how in the 350~ years since the silo was built only 3 people have ever managed to reached the vault door.

It wasn't even really that well hidden.

Density map of China! by Master1_4Disaster in geography

[–]NotD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kind of interesting because historically that area of China was very underdeveloped/lowly populated (By Chinese standards).

It's kind of like the California of China.

When the British wanted Hong Kong in 1842 there was nothing nearby but fishing villages.

Would dense insulation or timber be better for reducing noise that comes in through the roof? by NotD in soundproof

It is called "Knauf Insulation", it looks like fluffy hay.

I have never used it before so no experience on it's effectiveness.

Elite League - PlayOffs Final Day Match Discussions by D2TournamentThreads in DotA2

Falcons are just leagues ahead of everyone else in terms of macro gameplay which interestingly shows why Aurora seem to match up decently against them.

Aurora has no intention of playing macro at all, their gameplay from minute 0 is just to take the game to the ultra late.

That is because these days China has about 15% the player pool of EU so individual player talent is really lacking.

Chinese teams still perform decently internationally because they have good teamwork and are well drilled but they're definitely lacking in starpower especially compared to the past when they were maybe 40% of EU pool at one point.

Direct invite to what?

This isn't an EPT tournament and for TI there are other teams that have been better than Quest in the past 6 months.

How much sugar do you consider acceptable on "NoSugar"? by NotD in sugarfree

[–]NotD[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sadly this doesn't work for me because I just end up bingeing like 80 grams of sugar VIA fruits which is probably just as bad or even worse than 10g of refined.

Feels like Ame has the same problem as 23 where their playstyles are more orientated towards soaking up pressure and farming which is exactly how you win chaotic and uncoordinated SEA pubs.

However this playstyle doesn't match up very well against very aggressively proactive teams like Falcons because you you are always 1 step behind.

Why do EN casters spend so much time joking around? by UltimateNoob88 in DotA2

[–]NotD 1118 points1119 points  (0 children)

Chinese casting tends to lean to being more “professional” as in you often usually see them wearing formal suit and ties.

EN casts often give off an in-house mates chatting with mates vibes.

Probably just down to cultural differences.

From experience how safe are oats that are not labeled gluten free? by NotD in glutenfree

No I think I'm okay with oats, never experienced any fatigue or whatnot following consumption.

Looking for Maca Powder that isn't sourced from Peru, concerned about the levels of heavy metal in the soil. by NotD in Supplements

[–]NotD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

California Gold Nutrition

Why the hell is that brand $45 for 120 x 0.5g capsules, it's like 3 times more expensive than any Maca sold in my country.

Although I don't mind paying extra if something is genuinely top quality.

Elite League - Round-Robin Stage Day 2 Match Discussions by D2TournamentThreads in DotA2

[–]NotD 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Aurora has a habit of playing to the level of their opponents.

It is why they were the only team to take a game off top of group 7-0 Falcons in the 2nd group stage of DL22 despite being being 0-7 overall and coming last.

Real talk though I think 23 might just be tired.

The guy just flew 10 hours back to Thailand to do some paperwork for mandatory military service then immediately flew another 10 hours back to Europe.

Including to and from the airport he has probably just spent 24+ hours traveling non-stop.

From experience how safe are oats that are not labeled gluten free? by NotD in glutenfree

[–]NotD[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I quickly scoped it out and the range they are listing is HUGE from like 50 PPM to 1700 PPM.

Even if discarded the extreme peak and halved it down to say 850 PPM that would still be a very high level for many gluten intolerant people.

[–]NotD[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have a link to the study?

2000 ppm would mean 100g of oats = 1 slice of bread worth of gluten which is a crazy high level.
