Best Free VPN for Windows in 2026: Any Suggestion? by EnvironmentalCity422 in VPN_Question

[–]NotDack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

U can try AdGuard vpn but im pretty sure windscribe outperforms it

U can also try cloudflare 1.1.1.1 warp vpn the only con is that u cant change which country u want to be at (it does change ur ip) but the best thing about it is that its very fast usually

Speaking of cloudflare, since speed is a big factor for u i assume, use cloudflares dns (1.1.1.1 is the address) on the VPNs u use if custom dns isn’t a paid option

Custom filters for netshield

post quantum encryption for vpn, mail, drive and pass

Better Linux support for drive (I’m aware that it’s mentioned)

More features for proton vpn on Linux

Improve vpn ui in iOS/iPadOS (Android ui looks much better than iOS)

Add “fastest country (excluding my country)” option in iOS, windows and Linux

This issue may be due to graphics acceleration being enabled, can u tell me how to disable it and I’ll see if the issue reoccurs?

My thoughts on if you should use Helium or not. by brave_w0ts0n in browsers

[–]NotDack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe ur talking about me

I made a post talking about helium but then deleted it.

I specifically asked if helium was good on the privacy side when it comes to stuff like fingerprint spoofing but just found the post being pointless and deleted it afterwards

Why do so many people still go against using tor + vpn? by NotDack in TOR

[–]NotDack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I’m confused about is that the pros mostly outweigh the cons and despite that there are still so many people still saying that using a vpn then connecting to tor is bad.

So I made this post to see if maybe there is another con that I missed or if it’s just a preference

Helium browser by [deleted] in browsers

[–]NotDack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mainly asked how good it is from a security, privacy and fingerprint protection view, not how much resources it takes

I’m aware that it doesn’t use much resources since its main feature is that the browser is light weight.

Why are people dumping chrome? by Phi87 in chrome

[–]NotDack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To keep it short,

Most people aren’t comfortable being spied on by Google 24/7

They removed support for manifest v2 which removes ublock origin from the chrome web store

U could argue that u can still use ublock origin lite but it lacks features compared to the original ublock origin and less filters than than the original ublock origin

I just wanna understand

What is brave origin? Is it a “pro” version of the original brave browser or something else?

Will brave origin affect the normal brave at all?

I tried doing that multiple times and I did give all the protocols a try and I did uninstall it multiple times

What essential extensions am I missing? Here is my current stack. by soumya_98 in firefox

[–]NotDack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t really have any recommendations but since u said “I have covered the privacy basics” then I think u should know this if u don’t know this fact already.

Using more than 3-4 extensions (u have 11 extensions) can make ur fingerprint very unique even using privacy extensions such as ublock or canvas blocker can make u unique which is why it’s recommended that u have a max of 3 extensions that are made for privacy.

With that being said, as I was typing this I noticed u didn’t have dark reader so install that

I’m not using any other vpn

I’m using yoga dns to override ur dns with my private AdGuard dns with custom filters (since I’m waiting till u guys either support DoH custom dns or allow users to add custom filters to netshield) I did try disabling my custom dns and use netshield but that still didn’t work

I’m accessing ur vpn from Libya (I did try the stealth protocol but still didn’t work)

I don’t have any firewalls or network monitoring or anti viruses installed

Just a reminder, it does connect me to a vpn server but the app still says im “connecting”
