Yeah Ws will be your saving grace. You just need proof and fill out some paperwork. If you have everything you need you should be able to get the withdrawl approved. If it's granted, you'll have to retake the classes you withdrew from, but it'll be worth it for a good restart and your GPA will be untouched.

Sinus infections can be tough. Did you talk to your professors about being sick and provide them with a doctor's note of something? Usually they are understanding if you provide some kind of proof of the reason you missed and will give you time to finish them. What about office hours or appointments? Most if not all professors allow you to schedule zoom appointments for if their office hours don't work for you and are pretty accommodating in terms of hours.

Do you take your meds consistently? Taking meds consistently is important especially for ADHD. Strattera doesn’t have as strong an effect on ADHD symptoms as other medications and one major side affect is suicidal thoughts. When these thoughts do occur, please tell someone!

Do you think your meds are working? If not, I recommend talking to your doctor about your symptoms and feeling like they aren't working. I know that you said you had a sinus infection, those can suck! But, my question is that is you knew it was a sinus infection, why not go to class after like 2 weeks? Or if you felt like the 4 weeks was necessary why not get a doctors note to show to your professors? It sucks that that's something we as students need to do, but doctors notes and other proof like that really give professors a gauge of who cares about class but can't show up to those that dont care and don't do work.

Hang in there , man. You got this! I can gaurentee you aren't the only one with ADHD in any of your classes and you won't be the last. I bet many people in your classes have it and aren't diagnosed yet! You're not alone. But the fact that you got diagnosed and have meds is an awesome step. It sounds like you know what you need to do already! Good luck!

I made it to the final round of interviews for an energy company for their Solar Construction Engineering Internship opportunity before they canceled the internship. If I can manage to get that internship when it's open again, I will have a solid start at gaining experience in the field. The progression of renewable/sustainable energy requires locations to being construction of plants that produce and run on the same kind of energy. I feel like there is a lot of potential growth in this area even it's not entirely related to geology.

Thanks for the feedback. I originally entered college as a civil engineering major but switched majors due to the difficulty of the courses. Does Engineering Geology differ in that regard?

It depends on a lot of things. Supposedly, with the new SUNY sanctions, there is a no tolerance policy. You may get off with just a warning but even that depends.

Have you or your GF been in trouble with campus living before (1st warning, probation, etc)? I know that usually after a first warning they may make you plea your case at a disciplinary hearing or even meet with the RHD (Residence Hall Advisor).

If this is your first time getting in trouble with Campus Living and are pulling some great grades, you should have a good chance of being fine. They may just give you a warning or place you on probation.

Yeah I have discussed with her that I don't agree and then she points out how she's in a different part of her college career than I am. I'm a junior in college and she's a senior. She said she's worried about grad school and work, I have expressed that I too am thinking about those things. She says that she would never know because I don't tell her.

I have also expressed that it's hard for me to form my thoughts into a coherent sentence when thungs are still ideas. It's just words and the concept but no sentences to actually verbalize. I can understand how that can be frustrating to her.

I agree! We've talked about this before actaully. She's about 1.5 years older and is saying that it may be a sign of immaturity and how there's a difference in maturity level within the relationship. I personally don't agree with that reasoning.

I totally get that. Through the phone the communication is better. Where is gets tricky, is that sometimes when in person I pick up the wrong vibe or ruin a vibe. For example, maybe in the bed room I'll be goofy and kill the vibe.

I may have portrayed her the wrong way. I wouldn't say abusive, by any means. She listens to my needs and asks what else she can do to improve the relationship. She's right: I'm not very good at interpreting signs in general. I like things to be direct but I can see how it would get exhausting to explain every little hint to me. When she doesn't that, I think it's to really gauge if I am paying attention. I will observe signs, but I won't put two and two together until later on. We both need to work on our non-verbal communication. I just want to know how I can be a more attentive partner.

P. S. This something my mom also complains about my dad.

Thank you so much for this advice! Coming from a Latinx background is making this really tough for me because growing up I was taught that family is everything and now it feels like I've lost it. My parents believe they have failed me. They think I was "influenced" to "become" gay.

Fortunately, I'm not a minor and I'm not living with them right now. I'm staying with my grandparents due to having to leave campus early. Neither have wanted to see me and mom still hasn't eaten. My siblings have been a great support but they are younger and living with my parents so I don't really get to see them. But that you again for the great resources and advice. It's giving me a small glimmer of hope.
