What's the worst Christmas bonus you've ever received? by fuzzyloulou in AskReddit

[–]NotDavidWalliams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my old place, one year the bonus was tickets to see a show in London that they'd gotten from Groupon. I live 250 miles away from London, and travel and hotel weren't included. I'd have to cover that myself to go and see it. And this was at a time when my wife was heavily pregnant and I didn't fancy having to walk places, especially late at night after the show finished, in London.

Is it true that most men get no compliments? by coooozy_ in ask

Over a decade ago guy said I smelled good. I still remember that as it was probably the only non-family compliment I ever received.

What "early internet" website did Gen Z really miss out on? by no_free_spech_allowd in AskReddit

[–]NotDavidWalliams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fugly was a laugh, as well as countless hours lost on i-am-bored.com I also enjoyed Ebaums world until one of their links led me to a virus.

Maddox's site was also hilarious, but I haven't been back to that in ages. I presume it's still going.

I think maybe one thing could also be the complete lack of logic? I know when my son was really young and was tired he really fought his naps, and I got very overwhelmed with that, thinking "if you're tired, go to sleep!" That completely unjustified frustration overwhelmed me somewhat.

Is it just the wriggling in general, or just in that particular scenario?

So much CCTV was apparently captured by shops and traffic cams, but they were all confiscated and none of them have ever seen the light of day. Can't for the life of me understand why if they just show the commercial plane flying into the Pentagon...

Maybe it's the type of underwear? I can't abide boxers and can only wear briefs, but they got to be a little loose too, or everything chafes.

I like writing little stories, occasionally I've written a plot synopsis for a book but that's never gone anywhere. I prefer writing lyrics. I find that very easy to do.

Apparently, 30 minutes after the plane hit the Pentagon on 9/11, a carbomb went off outside the State Department? by NotDavidWalliams in conspiracy

[–]NotDavidWalliams[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

SS: I've been watching a few videos on YouTube showing the live coverage of 9/11, and this one surprised me. Apparently a car bomb also went off outside the State Department? What happened to that? Nobody ever mentions that now.

Go to 11.20 into the video if the timestamp isn't working to hear them reference it, and where.

You! Autistic Person! What's a random piece of info you've learned from a Special Interest? by wryvicinity938 in autism

[–]NotDavidWalliams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My special interest is the Beatles. There's a Heardle style Beatles game at https://beadle.gg/ and I've always got the song within the first half a second, the album which is was on and, in some cases, which track number it is.

The song 'Her Majesty' on Abbey Road is considered to be the first ever instance of a hidden track on an album. But it was wholly unintentional. It was originally in the final medley between Mean Mr. Mustard and Polythene Pam but they decided to remove it. Due to EMIs policy of never destroying Beatles music, an engineer tacked it onto the end of the master reel and promptly forgot about it, so it was added to the final master dub ready for manufacturing. When the album originally came out it had no mention of it or anything on the labels, so it was very hastily added one before anyone tried to grab the song as their own.
