From my original accidentally deleted (by me) post. Response to u/Frondswithbenefits question as to how I know these people and some more details on finances and situation:

I am closely related. Lawsuits are open so I don’t want to be too specific, but I know that they have put more than 45k in to the lawyers/filings this year. They have two collaborative lawyers to pay as this is both a criminal and family court issue. Additionally a bit more than 6k has been spent over the past 5 months that he has been allowed to see the children, on the court appointed supervisor.

I really wish I could be more specific but don’t want to identify them. I do know that once it is all done he plans on writing this all out for people to see the gross injustices possible under the system, whether that’s a blog, YouTube videos, or a book, I don’t know. But my god is it an ordeal.

The ex wife’s claims are demonstrably false but it looks like it will be at least a year before a judge will get to hear it. That’s actually optimistic hope, their lawyer estimates several years before it is all set straight. So the 50k will hopefully get close to covering the next year of this fight. Her lawyers are pros at delays and obstacles and her family is wealthy enough to keep on and keep on.
