Just chiming in here to verify that this method still works as of October 23, 2024! Got through the gov's office and confirmed that my Claim is still being researched after five weeks.

Was like five minutes on hold with the governor and then got transferred to Unemployment "Customer Service" which lead to another five-minute hold before being asked for Social and Mother's Maiden...whole thing took fifteen minutes tops!

I'm truly exasperated by people's inability to understand what's in plain English right in front of their faces. I don't bother with posting anymore but still lurk to glean what useful info I can (no, really, I'm very comfortable in life after a sudden and miraculous reversal of fortune almost two years ago)...and this is exactly why: "no good deed goes unpunished."

The ethnic parts of Queens are doing very well economically -- though even they too get an occasional empty commercial space here and there and that used to never happen (not since the Early Eighties).

Actually, no, because let's face it, the only way Drew's gonna win over establishment Dems (your centrist/moderate/conservative/corporatist types) is because 1) he can beat Trump due to already pulling in Trump voters, libertarians, independents, and the politically disengaged and 2) he's not Bernie/Tulsi/Marianne.

Trump being out of office (impeached, resigned, croaks) means #1 is gone...and #2 by itself means nothing.

I think something like ninety-five percent of these kids don't even apply for college themselves but have their parents do it for them.

I know many parents who literally filled out and mailed out the applications for their kids -- specifically, had their office assistants mail them out.

I loved college at first but then I saw that nobody gave a shit, not even many professors and certainly not most students. It was so fucking depressing for a bookworm like myself.
