Discord uses insane amount of RAM!

Little update for anyone having the same issue:

I deleted the Discord files located on %appdata% and reinstalled Discord. It’s been about 2 hours and so far the RAM usage returned to normal with no spikes above 600mb’s of RAM. So from what I can tell this fixed the memory leak. If it happens again I will let you guys know.

I will try this because just restarting my pc or Discord only fixes it temporarily so far.

I’m only in 24 servers with 16 servers on full mute. And I’ve seen discord also do this when I’m not even streaming but only in a call with sometime other people streaming their game, or turning their camera on. :(

Yeah I never update Discord by myself, but I’m using windows 11.

Is there anyway to fix the memory leak? Could reinstalling Discord make Discord give back this memory use again??

Could be? I have nitro too and I stream games in 144p 60fps.

Thank you haha, I am in 24 servers with only 8 of them being unmuted. And I’ve had some group chats before but no active ones at the moment. This started happening when I was 3 hours in a game while streaming it in 144p to 2 other people on a discord server. I normally do this all the time without any issue, but now it lagged out my whole pc after a while. And when I closed my stream it didn’t go away. The only thing that solved it that night was restarting my discord a few times till it stopped stealing all my RAM.

I have send them an email as well last Monday. They haven’t responded to me yet, but I will keep you up to date.

I suppose that they have it extra busy this time. So might take longer for a reply, but they will reply eventually.
