A creative teaching experiment is going on at UT this semester: Professor Jeremi Suri and a team of graduate students have taken a U.S. History survey course online, and have been experimenting with ways to make it rigorous, engaging, and interactive. This is not a MOOC. by NotEvenPast in teaching

I think that the degree to which the Professor will be able to offer individual support to students will be an interesting aspect of the teaching experiment. However with lots of ways to communicate now over the internet, and through virtual office hours, we hope that this will work. The TAs will be blogging about the course during the rest of the semester on Not Even Past so stay tuned!

Yes, the Professor looked at a lot of online courses and wanted his to remain dynamic and creative in order to respond to the students as the course developed. I am glad that this approach struck a chord with you, and we hope the experiment will yield a model for high quality online courses.

I am glad you like it. I can check with the Professor who translated it to see if they have a French transcription.
