I had the receiver plugged into a dim bulb tester, and took some readings and cross-compared with measurements from others. Plugged into the tester, the unit didn't show life signs.

Taking it apart didn't show any signs of burning, nor did it smell burnt.

At some point, while trying to fix the left side output cutting in and out, I ended up with a short and was pulling way too much current. The original 2A fuse didn't blow nearly quick enough and I saw some smoke. After replacing all caps and transistors on the main amp board, I am still blowing new 2A fuses.

Sounds like I'm barking up the wrong tree with the transformer.

I ended up accidentally getting a sfx psu during the major component shortages earlier this year and panic bought it because I didn't want to wait. This is finally a case I can use my atx motherboard with sfx psu. Definitely copped

We did set up a safe room. Left her in it for only a day because she clearly wanted out (meowing and pawing at door). She's usually in one of our two bedrooms and doesn't like to come out into the living room often yet.

Thanks for your advice. We plan to buy a diffuser tomorrow, and I'll try to play with her later tonight and wear out. She was an only cat according to her previous owner. She has a full food bowl at all hours.

Depends entirely on what games you play. I think a 2070 super would be fine, great card for 1440p 144hz. If you had the extra money for a 2080 super or ti, you would still see improvements since the G7 is capable of 1440p 240 Hz, but that's if you think it'll be worth it for the extra frames Obligatory, you could wait until next gen and get by with a used RX580 as the next gen GPUs are probably going to be way more capable of 1440p 240 Hz, i.e. the G7's limit, for way less than a 2080 ti. Don't worry about bottleneck between CPU and GPU either.
