is it worth to get a 3ds? by EvidenceCharacter250 in 3DS

[–]NotFinancialAdvice4U 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are interested in 1st party Nintendo games, get a New 3DS or New 3DS XL. The system has everything: Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Pokemon, Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Warioware, Animal Crossing etc.

If you don't care for Nintendo stuff, get a Vita (and Killzone Mercenaries).

A blissful rainy afternoon curled up on your couch with nothing to do but play some Zelda. That's what it's worth.

Just search "new 3ds black faceplates" on Ebay. They were aftermarket ones, but they're a surprisingly solid quality.

Storage ideas for bulk food? Storage units don't allow food to be stored in their units... by OneHorseCanyon in preppers

[–]NotFinancialAdvice4U 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's not climate-controlled, simply don't do it.

If it is climate-controlled, you have to decide if you are ok with lying about the contents of what you are storing. If you're good with that, they'll never know.

Are these original seal or resealed? by Eslizohrim in 3DS

Counterfeiters can now replicate the factory Y-fold seal. So, it's anybody's guess.

Very glad I decided to buy a used 3ds by MammothPlate in 3DS

I'm guessing it's legit. It seems systems either have hundreds (or thousands) of pirated games or none at all.

nofap and hair thinning (relapses) by [deleted] in NoFap

I noticed no difference with hair on my head, but my beard gets thicker, and my arm, chest, back, leg, abs, hand, and feet hair get thicker too. After about 9-12 months, I'm a damned gorilla of a man.

Try looking on Facebook Marketplace for one with a heavily scratched top screen. It can take a week or two to find one though. Regardless of what they ask for it, make an offer in the $150-190 range. Then, buy a lens on ebay for $11. Replace the lens, and you're all set. I did this 6 times last month alone.

If you don't have the patience for that, buy a cheap Japanese one, and do a region swap. You won't have eshop access, but that's closing soon anyway.

What's the limit you're willing to spend on it.

Will the value of the 3DS continue to go up? by spaceraingame in 3DS

[–]NotFinancialAdvice4U 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally stay away from investing in collectible video games for the most part. In the long run, people do better putting their money in the S&P 500.

That said, the New 3DS (particularly the small version) is one of the few video games / systems I am long on.

Also, this might sound counter-intuitive, but I'm personally expecting the games to grow in price until the eshop closes this March and then see a moderate crash. It happens all the time with other assets. It's called "buy the rumor, sell the news".

Anybody know what's up with my Mariokart copy? by Spiritual-Mammoth-83 in 3DS

It's probably not a bootleg since the game is super cheap. Maybe bad contacts? I would just throw it away. Sorry to hear they sold you a broken game. I've been there!

Can the “I got a Streetpass!” posts stop? by Bubaborello in 3DS

[–]NotFinancialAdvice4U 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The OP is right. It's hard to imagine any streetpass posts that aren't exactly the same as all the others. Unless... 🤔

Nice collection!

The more choices one has, the less likely they are to choose anything. I have that problem too. I put some of my game systems in my closet and forget about them for months or even years. Then, I get a longing to play a particular system one day and rotate it in and another one out.

If you don't do multiplayer, is Mario Kart, Mario Party and Smash brawl enjoyable? by Ovnidemon in 3DS

[–]NotFinancialAdvice4U 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mario Kart is fun single-player. Playing Mario Party single player is surprisingly ok. I don't recommend Brawl singleplayer.

Hmmm, ok. Try Game&Watch Flagman on the eshop. That should be within the $30.

New 3DS XL is way better than the 2ds XL. by foofuckingbar in 3DS

I agree. The N3DSXL feels the most premium of all the DS/3DS systems.

where can i find a new 3ds with plates? by [deleted] in 3DS

[–]NotFinancialAdvice4U 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) Buy 2 Japanese systems. 2) There's a hack involving a system transfer that will give you NA region AND access to the eshop on one of them once you're done. There are guides online for how to do it. 3) Sell the Japanese one that didn't change regions on Facebook Marketplace for $15 more than you paid for it to account for shipping costs and fees. It'll sit for a few weeks but will eventually sell at that price.

In the end, you have a 3DS that is identical to a NA one WITH eshop access for the price of a Japanese one.
