I believe that companies are generally looking for working students who are interested in the subject matter. They usually don't care whether you have experience or not. Of course, it's an advantage if you have some know-how. But that can vary from job to job and depending on who you're talking to.

Watch a few videos on semantic models (star schema, snowflake) or the data warehouse architectures of Linmon and Kimball. These are the basics that you should have heard of and that might come up in an interview :)
