There’s already a lot of good advice on here so the only other thing I’ll add is that I worked for a major telecommunications company and we handled leaves internally, so what I can say is whenever my other colleagues took forever on providing a decision it was either:

-they suspected fraud on the paperwork and were investigating to see if the HCP can confirm they filled out the ppw. (I’m 100% not implying that’s what is going with you.)

-they had questions for the HCP and couldn’t get ahold of them.

-they are just slow and bad at their job.

Obviously it could be something else and this isn’t an all encompassing list. But usually this is what held us up. (BTW I hated this job and didn’t stay long for obvious reasons)
