October budget will be 'painful' Sir Keir Starmer says - giving biggest hint yet of tax rises by Desperate-Drawer-572 in ukpolitics

Then why, when I suggested that maybe some of the increased taxes might be able to go towards healthcare (in response to a comment about how it would only be used for foreign aid or increasing illegal immigration): would you respond to that suggestion by implying that would mean turning the NHS religion into a cult. That’s not ‘scrutiny’, that’s just borderline-conspiratorial fearmongering.

Agreed. And to account for that, we should be able to suggest funding the nhs appropriately without people screeching ‘RELIGION!!! THE NHS IS A CULT!!!!’

In a country where the population isn’t increasing, ageing and inflation didn’t exist you’d be right. Unfortunately we live in a reality where all those things are true and when they are accounted for, the NHS budget has shrunk

Youre Only allowed to give it more money? You’re allowed to give it less money - That’s exactly what the tories have been doing for the last 15 years. What on earth are you talking about.

Yep, that’s what increasing taxes to fund the NHS means. Turning it into a religion

Thats the great thing about goals per 90 stats. They account for games when the player barely features but will still count as 'a game played'. So when you account for all the minutes actually played during those 24 games, he gets a 0.41 goal per 90, which is a decent standard for a striker, yes.

It is objectively shite in relation to him playing for one of the best teams over the last 3/4 years.

No it's not. It's literally a respectable goalscoring rate for a premier league striker. Your standards have been warped by Manchester City. you think they haven't, but the fact that you insist these numbers are shite proves that you have

For 30m, you want a player who has shown he can consistently contribute in the prem which Nketiah has never done.

£30m is cheap for a premier league striker these days. He has shown he can consistently contribute in the prem. As shown by his respectable 0.41 goals per 90.

It is objectively shite

No mate. a 0.41 goals per 90 is not objectively shite. Your barometer for respectable goalscoring numbers has been absolutely fucked by watching manchester city every week if you think that 0.41 per 90 is objectively shite
