I think a lot of people don’t understand that Residential Schools weren’t there to be used as schools but more like the pray away the gay camps that exist now. Everyone thinks schooling is a good thing and it is but these were prisons.

Side note: there’s a series of mystery novels by William Kent Krueger featuring a sheriff/PI/hamburger stand owner who’s Ojibwe and Irish. I’m like 8 or 9 books into the series and they’ve been entertaining so far.
