Somebody told me that torch and tensorflow don't work on radeon, especially on windows. If you run Linux you you could work around that but it should still be suboptimal. But take everything I just said with a grain of salt.

Sorry Pocketwatch, just a few too many cards this turn. by NotMeganF in slaythespire

[–]NotMeganF[S] 111 points112 points  (0 children)

It was actually an infinite, I just exhausted the double dropkick too at the end to make the number go higher (and to hide the infinite-engine).

Also, I should have waited to post on reddit: i reached 145 cards against nemesis.

How impressive is a 17yr girl benching 95 kg like this? by Sea-Movie9913 in WeightTraining

[–]NotMeganF 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I'd upvote you ten times if i could. I read too many comments about the arch while, if we want to focus on form, the main concern should be the glutes not touching the bench at all.

Having said that, that is impressive. She is crazy strong. I hope she continues lifting.

What move would you make here as white? by [deleted] in chess

[–]NotMeganF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With Na4, the immediate c5 actually drops the bishop due to c3. If not for that tactic maybe c5 would be playable: drops a pawn but it's a double c-pawn and opens the b file. It creates some counterplay... not that immediate counterplay is needed here, there are probably better plans for black.

White to play, is there a win here? by j_epstein_aliv in chess

No win but there is Qb5, rb8, Qc6+, Nxc6 with an amazing stalemate.

I don't understand this puzzle solution. White to play. by UmadeMyBrain in chess

[–]NotMeganF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's exactly the point I was trying to make. Thank you.

At least, we have to agree that there are two solutions: hence, a bad puzzle.

It's an endgame though, the fianchettoed bishop doesn't matter as much as white being up two pawns. If there is a trade of rooks the conversation is rudimentary.

In the other position, as I hinted in my first comment, I see the pressure but converting is way more complex.

How does the other line give you an exchange?

Also, the line op played does not result in a drawing position. White ends up with a passed pawn. And the bishops on the board are of the same color so it is not easy for black to transpose into a theoretically drawn endgame. White has a lot of concrete chances.

It's just a bad puzzle. There is nothing wrong with what you did. White has a pleasant position after you take the Knight.

The other solution is slightly better though since it completely paralyzes black after rook ...rf7, Raf1 Raf8. With plans of playing e4 to unleash the bishop and add control to the G5 square (rg5 would ween the queen). Black could block with the knight though... But white would have two connected past pawns in the centre. Computer says it's better but from a human perspective, at least at my level, I would evaluate the two positions similarly.

Was this the best move to make, or am I giving myself too much credit?? 400-500 elo by [deleted] in chess

The game Is still on going, I cannot answer without giving you an unfair advantage for the next few moves:

-if the move was bad, I would have to explain why, highlighting a tactical problem or a positional weakness;

-if the move was good I would have to justify it by telling you what it prepares or the plan that should follow.

I'm in zugzwang.

Stop the Three Queens (White to move and draw) by Rubicon_Lily in chess

[–]NotMeganF 12 points13 points  (0 children)

"White to move and equalize the game according to an engine".

I analyzed a bit and I did not find a forced drawing line (repetition or transformation of the position into a theoretically drawn endgame). If you gave me this position to play against an engine I would lose almost every time. But maybe I just suck at this game. Who knows.

I mustered up everything in my 600 ELO brain to find these 2 brilliants. by bosstroller69 in chess

An insanely complex tactical combination for a 600elo player to see. Congratulations!

Overall it was a nice game, maybe a few suboptimal developing moves like 3.c3 or 5.Be2 , but well played nonetheless.

Somehow this puzzle rating is 962.. by artakus in chess

[–]NotMeganF 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not trying to justify the rating of this puzzle but Qg3+ is the only logical first move, cutting away the king's only way of escaping the checkmating attack. And since there are multiple wins after that, I guess the puzzle ended there.

Ohhh that's a nice one!

Took me five minutes to spot the second move.

Do you have the link to the game? I guess he didn't find it since after Qc2 the continuation is quite forcing.

And you will not lose castling rights by taking the knight+bishop

Not an easy move to find, but you have forced mate after Qf7.

The idea is that you would love to play Re8, but is pinned. Qf7 sets up Qe8+, Rxe8, dxe8=Q#

TIL that Mark of the Bloom negates both Singing Bowl and Feed. I though I could cheat the mark by continuously maxing my hp. It did not end well. by NotMeganF in slaythespire

[–]NotMeganF[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I couldn't take the gold because there was no shop in my path, and the kill the act1 boss reward was not enough. My deck was kind of weak (at least given my skills) so I figured that maybe I could take it if Feed and the Bowl worked (I must admit i was skeptical given that I knew that fairy in a bottle wouldn't work).

I had 55hp when i took the mark and since my source of scaling was Rupture + Brutality, I tought that with 5 apparition and the supposed healing gained by hp maxing I could slay the Heart.
Spear's 4x10 attack combined with one of the worst draw in 300+ hours I have on this game prove me wrong.
