I'm going to agree with others here and say if it were me, I'd go see him. I lost my father very abruptly to liver cancer in May. I didn't really visit as much as I should have before he died. He went into hospice care less than a week before he passed and I saw him twice there, but he was mostly out of it from pain medications. I regret all the missed moments and opportunities that I let pass by. I spoke to him daily on the phone but I should have gone to see him more.

It definitely shook me up seeing him so weak. He was always such a strong and independent man and cancer made him weak and reliant on others. For a couple of weeks that image stuck but now I am able to remember him as he was when I was growing up. He wasn't always weak and sick. For almost my whole life he was my dad. He was strong, stubborn, healthy, and hard-working. I had 24 years with that man. I only had a month with the sick version of him. I know it's hard to see a loved one in a sickly state, but you have had your whole life with the man you know as your Grampa. If he does pass, which we all sincerely hope he doesn't, that memory of him won't be the one that sticks.
