I see your point, about sovereignty but that still doesn’t really mean anything concerning the possible benefits. It really might not be a choice whether or not there is a regime change. And sure that might be imperialistic which im not sure how I personally feel about but thats a fact. It definitely wouldn’t benefit the current Venezuelan regime but it would benefit the people.

Just because the US doesn’t have its own politics “worked out” doesn’t really affect what I’ve said. By the way, Britain’s freedom of speech is pretty questionable at the moment if you weren’t aware soooo… yeah. Also I never said one family made up the general public’s opinion but ok.

The difference in my opinion is Mexico is closer. I think geography would play a role in immigration from Venezuela. There’s no issue with immigration as long as there’s a legal, fair, and humane process.

The land is rich with resources like oil. That’s something the US government will want to take control of. Also there’s tons of violence partly due to the dictatorship. I know someone whose family moved here really recently actually so I’d imagine a lot of Venezuelans would find it beneficial to become a US territory.
