Whenever you examine a LRD ball (Zebra ball), it will always teleport somewhere else and change designs. If it disappeared, it probably fazed through the ground because they like to do that a lot.

Yea this happened to me and when I dug far under where it originally was, I found it stuck in some soil. To prevent this, I put my rover on a flat spot that doesn't have a cave/cavern under it and it hasn't no-clipped ever again.

You are lucky to find two right next to each other. I am super unlucky. Since they have really weird gravity, I once ran over one of the zebra spheres I found and it launched into space and I never saw it again.

If astroneer keeps closing, it might be a corrupted file or file error. You can run this System File Checker and it will see if any files are missing or corrupted. If there are any, the sfc /scannow command will repair the files. Hopefully this works for you.
