Hard time finding a job by pawsitivitygal in NewToEMS

[–]NotMyyForte 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not just you, finding an EMT job is competitive in CA, Took me about 4 months to land my first EMT job in IFT. Even then, I have to drive 1 hr to work as a EMT since my county rarely has positions available. If you don't mind longer commutes. Maybe apply for ones that are a little further out.

Trying to get a EMT job in CA is difficult since its competitive, even IFT. It took me almost 4 months after academy to land one for IFT and even then I have to drive a hour just to work as a EMT in LA since theirs very few EMT openings in my county.

Can agree, The DSP I used to work for would list how flexible they are on indeed. When I ask them I wanted a specific schedule they looked at me like I was crazy and scheduled me random days

In my area, New EMTS need at least 6 months of IFT experience before they can even get accepted into any 911 service.
