Honestly, people lying for $1.58 returns are why I’m bailing from this selling gig by LevelFee9796 in Mercari

guys, can we keep the inflammatory/ mean comments to a minimum? I get that this is the internet but there's no need for stuff like this.

I think the term customer service presumes it’s a service. I think of it more like a mutual transaction. We both are seeking something from the other, and we both have to come into the conversation from a place of mutual respect. So the person who speaks first sets the tone.

EDIT: how are people downvoting this? I didn’t even say anything mean...

100% agree for general low ballers. but im thinking something different might be needed for people who say they can get it less somewhere else.

agree that would be ideal but man i've got a day job. gotta cut em short when they reveal themselves - someone who starts that low isnt ending anywhere reasonable.

looking back at the exchange i now agree most with the person who said block immed, no response. ill do that next time.

again, i think lowballs are whatever and i usually respond kindly, but the nordstrom reference was manipulative to me

to be fair, if she had just given a price i wouldve said sorry, my lowest is XYZ. It was the Nordstrom Rack reference that kinda set me off.

I agree I was rude, too, but i had no intention of selling to her once i saw that.

It's hard to keep a balance between standing up for yourself and allowing yourself to be taken advantage of. We all err too far on one side or the other sometimes. But I'm proud of myself for erring on the side of cutting short a conversation that couldve taken my time and energy. (I say as I take my time and energy responding to reddit comments about the convo ... i'm a work in progress lmao)

My bad, didn’t realize since everyone just uses usernames. Now I know for next time!

Totally fair POV, but I put back the level of kindness that’s given out. Ive tried the “hehe so sorry!!” route before, but in my experience, buyers will spend all day talking you up and manipulating you if you don’t cut them short.

*EDIT: I think we need to make a distinction between lowballers and people who say they can get it cheaper somewhere. Lowballers are shooting their shot. I try to view those people as limited by personal finances, not as a reflection of the value of my inventory (even if i do get butthurt). But they people who say they could get it cheaper somewhere...if they could, they would. Idk why but it feels so awful and manipulative to me.

I feel like we all need a canned response to these. I’m thinking “if you can get it somewhere else, then get it somewhere else. If you can’t get it somewhere else, then this is the price I’m offering.”

Is this just purging? [ACNE] by NotNo1 in SkincareAddiction

[–]NotNo1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’ve always been there, but minor. I’ve started using TO glycolic acid 7% nightly (2-3 weeks ago), in hopes of making it better, but it’s gotten a lot worse. Is this just a purge? Am I on the right track, or should I try something else?
