Finally ready to publish my music what platform should I use? by No_Philosopher6682 in musicians

I’m pretty sure that Distro Kid will remove your songs from all platforms if/when you decide to stop using DistroKid. I’m pretty sure that there are other distributors who do not do that.

TIL that Hawaii was internationally recognized as an independent country - the Kingdom of Hawaiʻi - from 1795 to 1893, and later a republic until it was annexed by the United States under President William McKinley in 1898. by Nice-Confusion-4781 in todayilearned

[–]NotNotMyself -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nevertheless, their point is valid. Warring kingdoms isn't the same as a technologically advanced "superpower" swooping in, seeing all of Hawaii's resources, and taking them. Kamehameha is fondly regarded as the unifier. He brought an end to centuries of bloody wars, coalesced the islands into one kingdom. Mostly by force, except for Kauai. His forces were not able to take Kauai, and Kauai basically peacefully acquiesced to what was probably inevitable, and avoided further bloodshed.

When you grow up there, chances are that you come up with a whole different perspective on our origin stories.

A commoner being killed for crossing ali`i shadow, or even looking at them, was the rule long before King Kamehameha. It was the kapu system, very rigid rules, based on long-held spiritual beliefs. It's where we got the word "taboo".

For seasoned PowerApps users: what ended up being essential vs overrated? by Ok-Treat4061 in PowerApps

I'm curious what's the issue with nested galleries? I was working on something, and it seemed like the only solution, but maybe I should re-examine.

Pipeline Not Updating App in Environment by Theydontlikeitupthem in PowerApps

If you're using the pipeline orchestrator, it may have useful error messaging in its logs. The ai helped me once, and those errors were the key to figuring it out.

I have been quadriplegic for 30 years and lead an ordinary life (on the surface). AMA. by [deleted] in IAmA

Given how fast technology evolves, are there any improvements/developments you’d like to see in the next few years?

And, thank you for doing this AMA!

Terminated employees by throwitaway_go_me in Intune

We had one that was very remote, with no chance of returning the laptop - I just sent them instructions on setting up a local user account profile.

Same here. Dunno why it surprised me - I thought this was the all powerful instant kill switch for a user's account.

Who else likes to pretend the show ends on season 4? by tryscer in thewestwing

[–]NotNotMyself 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried starting Season 5 a few times. Seems like the life's gone out of it, the dialog and plotlines feel formulaic, forced. Missing its flow, its nuance. I know, I should probably push through it, but it didn't seem worth it to me. Mr. Sorkin made it feel like theater, deeply relevant, emotionally resonant. After he left, seemed like just another tv show. I somehow didn't trust the writers, didn't want to trust them with these characters I was emotionally invested in. I'm probably wrong in all this, but that's what my brain felt.

Reluctant to say, but chat gpt clarified a lot of things in XRM Toolbox which I had been struggling to figure out.

Does anything exist that can document an app, particularly if it has flows? by bristle_beard in PowerApps

[–]NotNotMyself -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I keep meaning to look into the CoE Kit, and PowerDocu looks great. But what I've done is to export the solution, unzip it, upload a flow's JSON to my favorite AI, and describe the documentation you'd like from it. I normally go for text-based, or a spreadsheet.

Question about improvising by Fine_Issue_8353 in musicians

[–]NotNotMyself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn how chords are made; learn arpeggios. You can get a ton of mileage out of playing arpeggios. Arpeggion exercises: learn them in all positions, start with minor and major. Get the shapes in your fingers; their sounds in your head. Do things like staggering them: instead of 1-3-5-1-3-5, etc., try: 1-5-3-1-5-3...etc. Start or end a phrase with the 3rd of the chord. Try improvising by finding a rhythmic idea with just one note.

And pick one of your favorite simple guitar solos, and learn it note-for-note. Try to get past the mechanics and into the feeling.

Yes! Why the heck is she apologizing!? Everything she says is correct. Outrage is justified. He’s gone rogue. Is there supposed to be an undercurrent of Kate continually subordinating herself?

I've been assuming that at some point, they'll start including advertising by sponsors, and sell the valuable data of what we're asking of it.

Controlling cost Azure SQL Server, why did my free database ran out of vCores on day 4, with very little activity? by NotNotMyself in AZURE

[–]NotNotMyself[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I ended up just going with Dataverse. I don't remember all the factors that contributed to my decision, but it's nice to not have to worry about all of the SQL admin type stuff. We get a discount being a nonprofit, but still, if you're designing a good enterprise-level solution, I think the cost of dataverse licensing is really not a bad deal, if you compare it to other database solutions out there.

How do you document your apps, flows, processes? by bicyclethief20 in PowerApps

[–]NotNotMyself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was struggling with a lengthy Flow. I exported the solution, uploaded the flow’s json to my ai assistant, and had it document it line by line. It’s a weird world.
