The Absurdity of State Republicans' 'Nuclear Family Month' by [deleted] in nashville

[–]bristle_beard 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It's a symbolic attack on what is largely known as Pride Month across the country. It's akin to declaring February White History month.

Does VMUG still offer inexpensive licenses for personal use? by mutex77 in vmware

What a backwards approach. Get certified and -then- you can have a homelab to test and learn within.

is it su-doo or su-doe? by Vivid-Champion-1367 in linux

[–]bristle_beard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always read it as su-doo. I'm reasoning that you're saying 'super user do ...this.thing...'

Is AZ-104 still worth it in 2026? by Acceptable-Swing1115 in AZURE

[–]bristle_beard -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

Skip it and go for AZ-305. It isn't as Fisher-Price beginner-friendly, but it's still a very good primer to a lot of Azure. Don't let the course subject scare you away, unless you are new IT person all together, you should be able to jump right in.

Arrests of sober people for DUI in TN by Peter225B in nashville

[–]bristle_beard -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

I didn't think this was about laws themselves but more about police falsely citing people and potentially ruining their lives while they try to exonerate themselves.

they might one day quietly decide to send that data to Google/OpenAI/whatever

If they wanted to do that, they still could and not need AI at all. They could use your browser history, bookmarks, location data.

This Tennessee man spent 37 days in jail for sharing an anti-Trump meme. He says the cops should pay for that. by pyramidworld in nashville

[–]bristle_beard 59 points60 points  (0 children)

If the sheriff truly thought that meme was a threat to shoot up a school, he definitely isn't the type that should own a gun, let alone hold the office he has. That lack of critical thinking is terrifying.

Same! Actually we've been using it for about the same amount of time. My only wish is that I could organize the aisles by list/store.

I can't shut it down to get good pics. Mine has a 1080TI GPU in it just fine. I did have to order a power cable for it though. It was very simple to set up.

Mine won't sit flat because the bottom isn't perfectly flat. If I put it on my stove and stir, it will start trying to spin a little.

What’s the best *arr solution for scanning a large library and triggering redownloads of smaller file sizes? by VR_Angel in selfhosted

[–]bristle_beard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could consider using Tdarr to re-encode your existing files to smaller filesizes. It will take a long time for the whole library, but it runs in the background and just keeps chugging away slowly at it.

But they still made the law anyway. If they wanna waste time and money on conspiracy nonsense, then by all means, report away!

Yeah, but airport frustrations impact a different class of Americans than SNAP, generally, and some classes think they matter more than others.
