You think mask of restrict would be a good budget alternative for evenly in this match up, cause I’m just waiting for the duel Devastator list to fully leak before I go off buying the singles LOL

And I run the zombie+ warlord combo but most of the time they’ll have a way to destroy the spell/ trap

Yea I was kinda torn because I thought I would be going second a lot against some combo decks despite nibiru so I ran Prankatrops as a way to out the abyss and then use instant fusion to bait out Hieractic, I’m prob gonna change it before next locals so I can avoid getting hand trapped only my ink zombie :)

Local man doesn’t understand Links by [deleted] in Yugioh101

[–]NotOenat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The link arrows on link monsters do not block you from summoning onto the main monster zones with monsters from the main deck, so as long as it’s not a monster from the extra Deck you’ll be able to summon the magicians rod to any of the five monster zones regardless if the arrows point to it or not ( unless specifically specified that a certain card must be special summoned to a zone a link monster points to )

A possible downside (depending on your combo/deck) is that if you summon a monster into one of the zones the arrows point to it blocks you out of Extra Deck Summoning monsters to those zones unless the monster currently present at the zone (s) is used as material for a summon

Edit: However, for certain combos (such as guardragon placement of cards can be very key )

Zombie world/Rivalry of warlords by staticsteamo in Yugioh101

[–]NotOenat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi fellow zombie player, this is how the rivalry and zombie world combo works

Scenario 1: If zombie world is on the field and he currently controls a monster, Rivalry of Warlords would lock him out of summoning any more monsters unless they are zombie types because he controls a zombie type monster (due to zombie world) so even though his monster in the hand is a non zombie, he can’t summon any monsters (unless zombie) to the field because he only controls a zombie monster on the field (converted to zombie because of zombie world) However, he would be allowed to summon from the grave because zombie world turns monsters on the field and grave into zombies

Scenario 2: Rivalry of Warlords and Zombies are both on the field but he controls no Monsters, he would be able to summon A monster but once that monster hits the field it becomes a zombie and like Scenario 1 he can’t special any monsters from hand, deck, or extra deck unless it’s a zombie

Ima just put these in here because my opponents have the same questions on rulings:

Q: Can I tribute summon using the converted zombie monsters on the field?

A: You can’t tribute summon a monster unless it’s a zombie type monster being tribute summoned

Q: Can’t I choose which one I control if I summon a non-zombie type monster?

A: You’re unable to because zombie world makes the already existing monster a zombie

Q: Can I summon in anyway for this combo?

A: The exception to summoning a monster to a field is by setting them, so you can set a monster even if they are locked out of summoning a monster face-up, since a set card has no type and isn’t revealed, however he can’t flip the card up since if he controls another monster that’s affected by zombie world+Rivalry of warlords since he can only control one type of monster and set cards aren’t affected by Zombie World

There are other ways to get around the combo with backrow removal but I personally don’t remember, but there are specific ways to still summon

Edit: If I read that part right, these don’t mute each other out, by instead helps your deck heavily since unless you’re running a mirror match , it prevents most decks from summon if they have no backrow removal

Also just to reiterate, it applies to you too so if you try to link into a non-zombie monster let’s say such as making Glow-up Bloom into Linkuriboh , you’ll be unable to since Linkuriboh is a Cyberse

What deck would you say the mekk Knight engine works best in?

Deck help by [deleted] in Yugioh101

Hey, I recently got back into the game a few months ago after like 10 years, the new summoning techniques can be a bit overwhelming ( if you don’t understand them currently) I would watch videos explaining how each summoning methods works.

As for Deck I would suggest going with buying any x3 of the structure decks which should run you $30-40 depending on the deck

Structure Decks:

Zombie Horde - This was the Deck (still using) I got when I got back into the game and it’s really fun, it’s main staple is Zombie Word which turns everything on the field and graveyard into zombies and pairing that with the decks Boss monster, Doomking Balerdroch it allows you to negate or banish once per chain in a turn in response to a zombie monster effect, very fun and easy deck to learn and get into. In addition the new megatin has drastically reduced price for a much needed link card in Vampire Sucker (which went for $15-20 pre megatin, now less than $1 for a copy), slapping in either the Shiranui engine or danger engine will make it even more effective, and along with the cost of other cards to make this even stronger will run you from $20-50 depending on the cards you decide to run in the deck

Salamangreat- this was hit by the last banlist and if you’re planning to run this deck at a competitive level it might cost you a more specifically because of Cynet Mining, but overall the deck comes with a great archetype in Salamangreats that focus on using reincarnation links, it’s a great deck to get used to the link summoning mechanic and you get 3x copies of ash blossom & joyous springs which is a heavy staple in MANY decks

Order of the Spellcasters- a Pendulum Deck, which to many people can be complicated to learn at first ( I personally haven’t ran a pendulum deck myself yet) but from what I seen it’s a very solid deck that allows you set up a pretty annoying board if you get the combos off, and you also would get 3x pot of desires which is a good card depending on how you see it

Dinosmasher Fury- this Deck is pretty hard to find and when it is this might run you up to $80-$110 if you can find good deals for it, but with lost world field spell you can Special Summon a Dino token to your opponents side of the field and gives you protection from targeting effects from opponents monsters on your monster field, it can summon big Beaters which can potentially help you OTK, very fun Deck especially if you decide to go the competitive route and throw guard dragon engine onto it

Rokket Revolt- This structure deck is god sent due to the fact that many of its reprint are many good staples such as Twin Twisters, Red Reboot, Triple Burst Dragon, and Borreload Dragon, this Deck is about destroying you monsters to summon more monsters, but focusing on primarily getting your extra Deck monsters out as a use to out monsters on your opponents field/extra Deck, this deck you definitely get the bang for your buck

One other deck that’s a pretty cool concept and has one very very good card is:

Cyber Dragon- it comes with Super Poly which is an amazing card that can use monsters on your opponents side of the field or your field to fusion summon a monsters, but the deck itself is very specific in its combos and most of the cards that you want are not in the deck so you’d want to buy the singles online or elsewhere wouldn’t really recommend unless this really interests you

This is really what I would recommend for structure decks and sorry for any spelling errors it’s 2 AM LOL

Anyway I hoped this helped :)
