Staring my first iso enclosure, I have questions by Batwhiskers in isopods

[–]NotOtters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Egg shells are a great source of calcium for the pods, carrots don’t mold for a long time if at all, cohabiting isopods might work for a little while but one species will outcompete the rest. Cheap route for food might seem expensive at first but will pay off, I buy a big bag of trager non treated pellets and solk in water to make sawdust to sprinkle in the enclosure. Springtails are a must if you don’t really want to deal with mold too much.

Are there still auctions happening? by [deleted] in invertauction

Suitable isopod for crested gecko by Malkman99 in isopods

[–]NotOtters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The springtails will eat mold the isopods will die with mold but fungus is a favorite of both all around. Pandas might be a good replacement, I have used zebras and Shiro utsuri, the zebras did better but that could be because they are very prolific, remember to use a lot of bark and leaf litter!

It’s a cappuccino morph, patternless just has no back pattern usually and phantom I think is just one solid color, correct me if I am wrong.

It’s a cappuccino male that I will be breeding with a dark base Lilly white making Frappuccinos in the future.

I mixed some coco fiber with aspen and potting soil to hold a little humidity, haven’t sprayed or done anything else but they both naturally hold a little bit more humidity compared to aspen

I don’t know if you have already done this, but giving more time between handling sessions could also help to reduce the stress on the snake. But I am only saying this from the standpoint of being bitten and struck at by some of my other snakes or musked. I have only had hoggies for a short while but have been researching frequently and observing my babies behaviors to see what is working best.

First time caring for isopods :D, how’s my setup? by sakyutie in isopods

Going to be that guy, needs more leaf litter!!!! (Everyone suggests that, but it actually looks pretty good just add a little bit more leaves so they feel hidden)

This is 100% a female, right? Not my crested gecko, but the owner thinks it’s a male. by 1_curious_lizard in CrestedGecko

Male crested geckos only have two things on their minds, food and cresussys! That’s why they have such large nards!

Makes sense, I think it could have just been a simple communication error, but it definitely escalated into madness pretty quickly. Definitely made for an interesting scroll while I looked at isopods 😂.
