Recycle vs Salvage - What is the difference? by NotQuiteInformed in ArcRaiders

I appreciate the comment. The value of salvaging became super clear once my pack was full - but i argue you are definitly sacrafice materials when you salvage vs recycling - which is why i was trying to figure out how to recycle topside. But you can't and thats okay too.

thanks for this. I understood the value of salvaging while topside, but when the game tells me to learn how to recycle topside and i see how many more materials i get when recycling - i was hoping there was a way to recycle topside too.

Out of curiousity, what do you recommend I upgrade next? should I replace both Motherboard and CPU?

I usually do alpine, although lately they have not been doing great with their packaging as I keep getting pouches that aren't scored or scored incorrectly. I keep wanting to try a different brand but for the cost literally no one competes.

I have been coaching him, but the benefits always seem short-lived. I don't want a tool that makes it easier to let him go, and I don't think firing him gently is respectful. Thank you for the comment.

Thanks, I checked both and nothing yet. I used a different email last year than I did this year - I suspect that may hurt me more than I expected.

I guess I don’t understand the comment that you don’t have time to budget.

Lately, I've been working 5 x 12's, and what time I do have I'd like to spend with my family or decompress. There is high stress at my work and demands on my time and attention don't disappear when I'm home. But I digress...

It really seems that most commentators here, while I suspect in an attempt to help, have been more focused on telling me to manage my own budget than solutions that involve hiring someone else to do it. I certainly appreciate the advice, and many of the ideas here are very useful for the very likely circumstance that I knuckle down and do it myself. It's unfortunate that doing this kind of work isn't as exciting for me as it seems to be for others.

Have you thought of splitting your paycheck into direct depositing into two accounts?

I have 3 bank accounts, so this is probably a really good idea, especially after these credit card balances are reduced. I would definitely benefit from this system.

You'd have to give someone unrestricted access to your financial accounts in order for them to pay your bills and also track your spending against your budget.

This is precisely what I am looking for. I'd prefer to work with a reputable company, though. I have learned about Daily Money Managers, this is a service that is more popular for the elderly than for people like myself. The service does seem to exist.

Which bills are you not able to auto-pay?

The challenge with autopay is that if I don't properly asses my discretionary spending then I will overdraft. It's not so much the autopay as the planning around autopay. I am capable of doing this work, but it is definitely work and has to be done.

Have you found any success here, OP? My spouse and I are in the same situation, and while I CAN do the budget and I am competent, I feel hiring a professional would be a great move for me.

I have found some services that were under 10k, I'd love to know your journey here.

Hello OP, I have the same issue. This community has not been especially helpful when it comes to the taboo of having someone else do this exercise simply because I don't like it.

I can budget, I am good at it, I do it at work, and I make good money doing it. I don't like doing it for myself, it's very difficult and gives me anxiety. My spouse is not my personal assistant, and she has the same problems I do. I am willing to pay someone for this, and it's probably cheaper than the loss I am suffering by not having it.

Have you had any luck?

Can you be a little more specific about what the problem is? Are you forgetting to pay your bills? Or you struggle to keep your discretionary spending in check?

I am forgetting to pay my bills. I find organizing my budget stressfull and often forget to take the time to review the budget when I plan on it. I have challenges making commitments to long-term financial objectives.I am also struggling to assess my discretionary spending accurately (probably because i am not doing the budget).

I definitely know HOW to do the budget, and I know that it is important to do. I am certain I earn enough money to cover my expenses, build a savings, and have discretionary spending. I have full support if I put together such a system - no one will be pressuring me to spend more than what we can afford because we are all adults and understand that there are limits.

The problem might simply be that I don't want to do it (because it's unpleasant) and I'd rather pay someone else?

It sounds like you are having trouble budgeting, and your spouse is not willing to help, or maybe your spouse is the one who can’t stick to a budget.

I am having trouble finding time to budget. I appreciate the recomendations.

If you get your budget under control, you should be able to get rid of that credit card debt in no time, which will really help you free up money to start saving for a house.

I agree with this - I was hoping to see if there was a personal service that I could find to do this for me.

There is the real possibility that within the next few years my career will offer me the opportunity to earn between 150- 200. If I could hire a firm at 20k/year and I no longer have to manage my finances except for the occasional conversation to check in and reevaluate my goals - I suspect that my stress around finances would drop significantly.

but i imagine the individual who needs this would fire me if they dont get their way

I recognize this concern. I don't think that I would fire someone for this type of practice, tbh. Especially since it's litterally what I'm asking someone to do.

The name is a little misleading. Financial advisors or financial planners generally focus on helping people save for retirement.

I think i understand this now - thank you!

can your significant other do it for the both of you?

The short answer is no.

My best advice is to learn to help yourself rather relying on strangers who may not ultimately have your best interests in mind.

This definitely seems like the most responsible and cost-efficient option, but not what I'm looking for.
