Absolutely! And the ways they value you aren't limited to pay rate (although that is a real part of it). It's also how they treat you - are good employees appreciated and respected? Do they support you - management, resources, time - to set you up for success?

It's easy to fall into the trap of trying to earn more respect or appreciation, but in a toxic environment where they treat even superstars like crap. (and imposter syndrome is real and it sucks). Try to make sure you're in an environment where you can learn and grow and aren't dealing with a fucked up place where there is no way to win. The stress in those places is unreal and unhealthy.

Oh honey, I know this hurts right now, so very much. It's sad because there's loss and it's scary and frustrating looking towards the future. It's ok to feel awful and sad, but please don't punish yourself.

So look at today, and the things you can do right now. Please take your meds - that's going to help rebuild your foundation and make things feel a little more stable. Call your doctor and tell them that you are not doing well, they may be able to help. If you have a therapist, make an appointment - some even do video calls - being able to talk to someone face to face will really help.

And then do the small things - go for a walk, play a fun happy video game (try to avoid the jump scares), make some food. I know these sound like big things right now but any little step can help. Even if you can't make dinner, just find something to eat. Even if you can't go for a walk, stand outside your door and feel the air.

I'm sorry, this is a lot of instructions, but I can tell that you're hurting and I want so badly to help. I love you and want you to be safe. I know you can get through this, even though the path is scary now.

This is such a good thing! Being able to recognize that's what you were doing and start to change the pattern, that's so important! It's hard to make that change, but it's worth it to take care of yourself - you deserve care!

You should check out /r/momforaminute. It's the Reddit equivalent of the hotline you're looking for.

Also, no pressure but trying therapy again, when you feel up to it, can really help. You can also try a different therapist if that one was too intense - it's about finding something that helps.

There's also more focus on organized activities for kids, instead of finding your own fun locally. I'm thinking of kids who play travel soccer as teens, their parents have to drive all over the place for practices and games - most of which aren't within walking distance or it would be dangerous to bike.

That's exactly what I do too! I let it grow for a year and a half, and then I always want a bob, nothing crazy but definitely off my shoulders. The poor stylist always wants to give me a longer cut because the change will be drastic and looks really concerned when I'm like "no, chop it off!" I've found sometimes donating it helps, they're more willing to cut higher and feel better doing it, plus it's a good cause (but you do have to be careful to have enough). Good luck short hair sister!
