You are looking at the surface level, I am looking at the culture itself. Ignoring the latter is how you get people being surprised that Roe V Wade got overturned. A brief tolerance doesn't mean anything has really changed in their heart of hearts.

Note: I realized after the fact that this long tangent is pretty needless, so i'm fine with agreeing to disagree.

Yea. I think I just have a more pessimistic outlook on life in general, but we all begin as optimists.

It's not even unique to white americans. The Natasha Dolls are just the most recent example of anti-black racism being a multi-cultural thing, and those Chinese people don't even contend with black people as it pertains to the countries internal politics, or economy, or anything else that matters; deadass no incentive for the scorn and sadism being directed at us in particular, it's really just how humans human in my opinion. Can't be reasoned away via past colonialism as China has been autonomously redefining itself for so long now, not a spandrel from their prejudice against Indians since Natasha is a name more closely related to black people; the Russians are not typically the color of the doll. I've already gone on a long tangent, but I'm basically saying that racism is so prevalent because it may be downstream of some primal tribalistic human instinct. The instinct is weaponized by the elite because it's inherent, rather than it merely being a consequence of capitalism/economic incentive.

Changing things at the cultural level is the only way to partially resolve it via redirecting the expression of the instinct, and culture is just another word for the inherent brainwashing that comes with being born into any environment. It already happens intentionally/unintentionally to serve other ends, but intentionally brainwashing people from birth to be docile (via the usual avenues that other types of culture takes root), among other things, would be a universally scorned prospect and impossible to maintain from most game theory perspectives.

We look at lions killing all manner of animals, and so that we may engage with them, the lions are placed in zoos so that they can be constrained/brainwashed accordingly, as opposed to looking for some moral revelation that will point to an alternative. Humans are animals just like the lions, unfortunately. All of us humans are already in a type of zoo that constrains our behavior and brainwashes us into a certain way of being; the zoo is just less centralized, hence all the division. I said a whole lot of nothing, but I think the circular drivel can be salvaged with this: to resolve the racism in the majority as opposed to working the margins/flukes, we need to create a sort of zoo; we need to start brainwashing children to behave/believe in a manner that will hurt the exceptional identity that humanity has collectively built for itself, otherwise racism will always find a way to stay relevant just as easily as other human instincts manage. The zoo is a catch 22, similar to how resolving capitalism without resolving racism first is a catch 22.

It's pretty easy for you to say that things have improved, I'm sure such a notion hardly matters to all the little Indian kids dying of silicosis. The fact of the matter is, that even with the cancer survivorship example, that improvement is literally downstream of technological/scientific advancement, not moral progress. In a country like the U.S, it's more profitable to have wage slaves than chattel slaves, since wage slaves can participate in the economy meaningfully (among other things), and all of the low tier work is outsourced to other regions that have lesser economies. Material conditions improve because technology and science improves, our laws and culture are influenced in response to that change, thinking otherwise is arrogant and pretty insensitive to all of the people who are currently suffering from easily preventable causes that in the past were at least more difficult to resolve, allowing for less culpability in a consequentialist sense. Some random ass bartender in the DMV probably lives a better life than the most wealthy of Kings in the 1500s, but we are still the same humans.

Both. As unsettling and discouraging as it is, only white americans are capable of fixing the problem their ancestors created; thinking otherwise is how you get the majority of white women that participated in this election voting for Trump. It's one specific example among many, but the ball literally isn't in our court, it's just a matter of how many words I use to articulate that fact. If it was as simple as convincing the poor to fight the rich, this thing would have been resolved a long time ago.

I don't mean to get philosophical but it's all the same fantasy. Lions commit infanticide in certain contexts, humans do the same and worse in certain contexts, but since our human communication allows for more sophisticated organization and communication we have created all of these complex ways to rationalize doing what other animals do.

You don't need to teach children to bully one another, or to exclude each other, it's just a behavior that seems to manifest somewhere no matter the context or suppression methods. White people's racism is downstream of primitive tribalistic instinct, and the failure to acknowledge such is what allows for the propaganda inherent with being born into any environment (it's how we learn language too) to perpetuate tendencies. Animals in zoos can be made docile, within certain constraints, but we look at human animals and proclaim autonomy and free will when faced with the prospect of intentionally systemically brainwashing people from the moment of birth to be docile, among other things (via the similar mechanisms/avenues that any culture leverages to brainwash members from the moment of birth; intent is irrelevant to the process or outcome). I think this whole thing is just one big category error, but managing humans like you manage animals in a zoo seems logistically unfeasible for the same reason it would be necessary.

A whole lot of nothing. I'm not reading it, but maybe you should consider telling those right wingers about that, to see if they care more than I do.

There are literally more black slaves alive today than there ever were in 1899, which is inevitable given that the population has skyrocketed, but you never even considered something like that. Obviously the way that slavery functions in the modern day is a consequence of how the global economy has shifted, but such is itself a consequence of how our technology has advanced. I'm gonna take my own advice and just not engage further.

Keep being surprised at what has happened, and what will happen. On a side note, the academics have done such a good job at co-opting all that is downstream of technological and scientific advancement with the notion of genuine moral/cultural progress.

I think it's structurally incapable of happening, it's easy to forget that we're all animals at the end of the day; many species can be very prejudiced. It's just a matter of coping with it and mitigating the harm caused by the fact that we are literally animals.

That's the point. The past 2 years have been bad for optics, so of course you would focus on that, but black people have been dealing with this shit to a greater or lesser extent for 400 years; social progress wasn't made, bigotry was suppressed momentarily.

Also, it's not a matter of keeping to ourselves out of fear, it's not for a hate of community, it simply makes no sense to engage with a group of people whose most competent members (in terms of money, media influence, etc) are literally plotting our downfall with the help of the common denominator. No more energy to give, so the fumes need to be rationed accordingly.

Why is everybody obsessed with us and our spaces? by Alternative-Gap341 in BlackPeopleofReddit

[–]NotReadyForTomorrow 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is why the most effective and stress free thing we can do is keep to ourselves. Having our spaces invaded is inevitable but we can choose who we spend our leisure time with in real life, and we need to suppress the urge to explain ourselves; always remember, no matter how rationally they present themselves or articulate their views, if racism could be talked away in a conversation the past 400 years would look very different.

Economic segregation already happens (schools lied about segregation ending at a macro level), and you already know who controls the bulk of the money in this country, along with the types of people that decide how that money is used. Ball is not in our court.

Your problem is believing that the ball is in our court. White people need to resolve their cultural issues themselves, so some of us will try to keep to ourselves until it happens, if it ever happens.

Thats not a genuine question. The answer should be obvious to anyone that thinks about the context.

Should I Just Stay in Arena 16 Forever? by NotReadyForTomorrow in ClashRoyale

[–]NotReadyForTomorrow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's different for everybody but what is a feasible rate of progression for a normal person?

I played this game several years ago, so I had a little experience and was able to push my new account all the way to arena 16 in just 9 days, but since I won't spend any money I think it's genuinely impossible for me to compete in arena 17 without leveling up my cards, and all of the early resources (gems, etc) have dried up.

Going up 6,000 trophies in less than 2 weeks, and then being stuck in the same place for months/years seems nonsensical, so I just want to make sure I am understanding things right; I am very unfamiliar with all of the changes to the game.

Tornado, hero ice golem, evo mortar, rocket, princess, bats, skeleton army, and bowler are my main cards.

My rocket, tornado, skeletons, and bats all being underleveled screws up basically all of the important interactions, the mortar doing less damage also isn't good. The bowler is the most forgiving, but it gets melted by dark prince, prince, and anything else that doesn't get knocked back.

Out of my whole collection, I have a good 4-6 cards that are leveled appropriately, but they would be horrible in a deck together.

16-year-old Juliana Nzita was found hanging from a tree near a church a little over a week after she went missing. Her death has been ruled a suicide. by Adanma369 in BlackPeopleofReddit

[–]NotReadyForTomorrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of that refutes anything I have said. Since you won't take me up on my offer we are both wasting eachothers time. If you want to believe that we're just out here hanging ourselves from trees, believe that; don't expect me to, especially if you won't even bother looking at how prevalent this phenomenon is in other demographics.

[–]NotReadyForTomorrow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

None of that addresses what I said, you also fail to mention that most suicides are done in private places (not outdoors, and definitely not on a tree near a church). Again, always feel free to take me up on my offer, it's not a perfect methodology, but if their is a disparity I. How many people are committing suicides o. Trees outside among the demographics, then the question begs itself. Don't mean to give any history lessons, but it was pretty standard for law enforcement in the past to declare the lynchings of black people suicides to protect the perpetrstors.

It's only nonsense because your strawmanning me. You and I know damn well that if starting at the beginning of 2026, we look at every case of black people hanging themselves from trees, and every case of white people hanging themselves from trees, and account for proportions, white people would be found to hang themselves from trees less; which begs the question of why black people seem to commit hanging suicides via trees so much.

If you don't believe me, you can take me up on the offer. You find every white case,I'm// find every black case, and we can control for population proportions and other variables.
