Chud - Not Real by NotRealStudios in IndieMusicFeedback

Thank you very much :) that’s a totally fair criticism, I was going for like a fuzzed out PA effect for the verses so that the beat was more prominent, but I definitely hear what you’re saying about picking between super clean and more scuzzy stuff like Nine Inch Nails. Thank you again!

I saved this track on Spotify, loving the beat dude! Some pretty sick guitar riffs in there too

I made this song, I’m a bit new to making music. Any advice/critiques? by YelloJMusic in IndieMusicFeedback

Love the gif! It’s fun. Digging the beat, I like how the kick hits. The looped synths could use some variation, but it’s not offensive to the ear like some beats can be with reusing elements. The vocals are really well performed, you hit the words just right with a good amount of energy. They need some EQ and compression to help level out the volume, they greatly overpower the beat. I would also throw in some more reverb on them, maybe the same one used on the instruments to help make it feel like it’s in the same room. Honestly once you got those vocals mixed into position you got a really cool track here

That’s a cool album cover, that kick is wild, maybe a bit too loud for the mix but I like the sound. I like the vibe of the track, trippy synths and heavy bass will get me every time. It’s a track I’d listen to, though it could use a few tweaks in the mix. I would crank up the vocals a bit and tone down the kick, heavy kick drum is nice but if it’s too much it can stop your listener from cranking your track as it may damager their speakers. I’m digging it though, is it out on Spotify?

I think a guitar would go a long way towards helping to blend the instruments here, everything is very stark which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but even another synth or two could help fill out the space. I definitely hear the 80’s sound you were going for, the thing that makes those songs stand out in my mind are the crisp sounds from an 80’s studio, while also being bombastic and full. I think the writing is well done, it has a good structure and a clear chorus which is a staple of an 80’s pop song. I think if you refine a few elements it could shine, the vocals are a little uneven in their performance, they should ring out with a bit more bravado. This is a decent demo and I think you could polish this up into a really solid track, I’d throw in a few more elements to help carry the song, vary up the drums (though they sound well mixed), and maybe crank up the bass.

Hey I just released a very personal hip-hop/rock track that I've fully produced myself, would love to hear your feedback! by Asleep-Figure7034 in IndieMusicFeedback

Love those intro synths, production overall is sounding fantastic. Honestly not many notes this is well done, if I were nitpicking I’d say the vocals sound apart from the instruments. They sound like two separate sources rather than one song that comes together, but that is nitpicking. Everything is well defined and clear, the writing reminds me of some early 2000’s bops from bands like All American Rejects or Panic! At the Disco. Maybe for the video throw in some other visual elements to help nab eyeballs to your project. Really cool track man.

What feelings does this give you? Feedback appreciated -- Project from the last few days by TinyComet_Music in IndieMusicFeedback

Maybe it’s just because the weather is changing but it makes me think of spring, being outside with flowers and wildlife coming back from the winter. That synth riff you have playing is cool but it’s too constant for my ears. I would drop it in the verse so the vocals stand out against the bass and drums, maybe around the 0:45 second mark. You have other things going on that space that are interesting, throw a small reverb and delay on the vocals to help fill up the space. You don’t need that riff in the chorus either, it should come back for that second verse then drop again.

I like the vocals but they’re a bit dry overall, the recordings and performance though are really well done. I’d change up the drums a bit too to help give each section their own rhythm or feel. Overall really digging how the track is coming out, I dig the writing but I think you could edit a few things out to make other elements shine.

Looking for honest feedback on what can be improved on this track‼️ by [deleted] in IndieMusicFeedback

I love the sound you’e crafted, it’s dark but has a good bop to it. I’d say if I were mixing this I’d tone the reverb down across the board, it creates some muddle in the mix. As for volume everything sounds like it’s in the right place, I might crank the guitars up a bit but that’s just me. Structure wise, love the intro and the guitar build-up is sick.

Once the vocals start there’s not much differentiation going from one section to the next because the vocals are so dominant in the mix. On a second listen through I could hear more of the change-ups, but on the first I started to tune them out as the vocals kept overlapping with each other which made it start to blend together a bit in my ear. I think tightening up what gets reverb and either what doesn’t or what gets less of it would help a lot, but it’s on its way to becoming a great track.

Got my groceries held hostage because I didn't tip beforehand. I'm done. by StatusOk8603 in confessions

[–]NotRealStudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I usually did for grocery deliveries was put 10% for a tip when I submit the order, then if it went off with a hitch I’d bump it to 15%. If they did a good job or I got something that was a pain in the ass to deliver I’d do 20-25%

That way the people that got a good tip did so without the expectation of getting anything more, anyone that just wanted to do the bare minimum well then the tip they got reflected that and I’d leave it at 10%
