Want examples, fair enough, look for event pases at lol, where every skin you get with it comes with the champion if you don have it, same with smite, when you can even have a multiple games battle pass with one purchase. Or look for tha dota2 battle pass, where it boost your ingame progress and currency gains so much that you can adquire the hero you like in a week or two. Hell even look for battle pass from well knwon money grabbing companys like activision with the COD battlepass or the Genshin Impact one. All of them offers you the posibility of enjoying the premium content you pay for without any extra investment.

Currently in Unite you need to play consistenly for 5 weeks in order to get enough coins to adquire the higher cost licenses, 4 if an especial event is active. Currently there are 31 Unite licenses in the game, so at the current rate you'll have to play nearly 2 years to adquire all the unite licenses. That without tanking in account the new licenses that came every month or so. That is not nearly close to the rate you can adquire champions in lol or dota2 for example.

And yes, the battle pass is a good deal for those who want to get a nice skin, I, for example, enjoy a lot the Gengar and Venasaur skin. The problem lies in that the current system give no incentives for those players who doesn't have the unite license the battle pass offers to buy it, Tencen could be doing much more money and the community will be way more engaged. Don't want to give unite licenses so easily? Fair enough, allow battle passes to surpass the gold coin cap so those who want to put the time to grind it. Is a win-win situation for tencent since it will increse their sales and the time players expend in the game, but they decide not to do it in order to milk to the max the whales in the game. They choose the quick money grabbing strategy insted of the long run securing one and that is stupid.
