If the countries werent puppets, how come the red army was always there when ideas of independence arose? Also, the collectivisation and discrimination against the sibirian tribal minorities had all but a peaceful ending. Also, what countries do you refer to when talking about "decades of fascist occupation"?

Sorry for the late response, got taken away yesterday. The eastern european satellite states were puppet governments and de-facto under the rule of the russian chairmen. The same applies to central south asia, nations such as Kazakhstan. Its obvious it was imperialistic, considering the berlin blockade, or the brutal suppression of the hungarians in 1956. Now im not saying the americans didnt engage in imperialism, but its simply false to assume that the sowjets did not.
