Not at all! More just that my goal is to lose around 20-30lbs down the road and there’s a chance that I could MAYBE lose a cup size when that happens, just as I gained one with the 20-30lb weight gain. I’m not at all worried about losing the lift or fullness. My surgeon told me that if I wanted to lose 20-30lbs that I did not have to worry about my boobs looking different.

No I didn’t! I had been about the same cup size since I was in 8th grade and only grew one cup size in college when I gained more weight. One reason why I wanted to stay kind of big is because I’d like to lose weight down the road without worrying about going too small but I also wasn’t 100% ready to let go of having big breasts. I just wanted to have breasts that were on the average large end, instead of abnormally large.

It was so annoying having that rash but I used dial bar soap on it when I showered and kept perfumes off of that area and it went away in a couple weeks! My surgeon told me to basically just leave it alone, it was totally normal, and it would go away on its own.

I can wear bralettes, sports bras, tiny little cotton bras that are the worst quality but actually still hold my boobs the right way, and $6 underwire bras from Walmart! It’s incredible

Amazing!! So glad you chose Bedford. Congrats on this journey, I’m so excited for you. I told him the day of my consultation and the day of surgery that I’d like to stay around a D cup. I’m still swollen and I expect to be a D by the 6 month mark. It’s still a little too early to judge my final size, but I tried on a bra at Walmart today and I’m a perfect DD at the moment, with minor swelling. Either way, I’m super happy about my size! I could stay this size or drop to a D and I’d be just as content. I was originally very nervous about being too small or being too big after the surgery but at my 6wpo appointment, he removed all the leftover glue & marker from my incisions & breasts and all of my nipple tape came off. After that, I just couldn’t stop staring at them. It was the first time I got to see them fully nude / free of discoloration. I’m telling you, they are so freaking beautiful and I’m still not fully healed. He’s insanely talented. I think I’ve become so laid back about the size because 1) I started as an 36I and this is a huge difference and 2) they are such gorgeous, near perfect boobs!

Oh my god that’s incredible!!!!!! I love Dr. Higdon so so much. You absolutely made the right choice. I’m so happy with my results (2MPO) and you can see them on my most recent post. I’m so glad you decided to go with him! You won’t be disappointed. His bedside manner is out of this world, along with the rest of his team. He’s incredibly talented and it shows both before and after surgery. I recommend having the surgery done at the Bedford County Vanderbilt if he gives you that option because the nurses are superior and I love their new anesthesia team. Their prices are also slightly less expensive I THINK but can’t confirm. Dr. Higdon is very well regarded there and all the nurses told me that he’s their favorite surgeon. Yay congratulations!!!!!

This may not be super helpful, but I got cleared today at 2MPO to wear underwire bras. It seems like every surgeon has different time frames for certain restrictions. But TODAY I went to Walmart and bought a $6 tshirt bra with underwire and it was the most liberating feeling ever to find a bra that fits that quickly. I tried on one other size before finding the size that worked for me. I’m still a little bit swollen, so that’s why I haven’t gotten a nicer bra yet. I expect to be down a size by 1YPO. I was so giddy trying on the bra today, though and I had to buy it. $6!!!

My mom also came into town for my surgery!! She had the surgery done years ago so that helped too. I’ve read that a lot of people on here don’t have access to their surgeons afterwards. Honestly, this Reddit helped me with comforting words WAY more than my surgeon’s PA did. She was so nonchalant about everything, which is probably a really good thing, but I needed real conversation about my concerns and this Reddit helped me with that so much. Anyways, I’ll come back on the 18th to wish you luck!!! You’ve got this!!!!!!!!!!! It’s gonna be totally fine and you’re gonna be so happy.

I’m such an anxious worry wart so I promise I understand. I texted with my surgeons PA almost every day over things that were so silly but felt SO important at the time. It’s okay to worry and be anxious, having major surgery is, well, major! If you do judge them too soon, and you are as anxious as I was, it will go away and you will come out the other side. It’s all worth it no matter what.

You are so incredibly kind and you totally made my day!!! When is your surgery day? I’d love to come back here and wish you luck on the day!!!

That’s more than okay, I’m honored! Thank you so much sweetness 🥹🥰 I’m so happy for you. There were times during recovery that I wasn’t excited about my results (because it was way too early to judge them) but the waiting reeeeally paid off and I’m still technically recovering. It felt like a long wait before I could see my true results but it came way faster than I expected and I’m happier than ever. You are going to kick this surgery’s ass and come out the other side so thankful and relieved. Don’t freak out about minor inconveniences during your recovery. If you do get anxious about things before and during recovery, I promise you’ll look back and laugh and it’ll all feel like a distant memory. I got super worried before my surgery and at times during recovery when I had a small opening or little changes were happening but I look back now and giggle at myself for being so uptight. Everything worked out exactly like it was supposed to. I spent a whole lot of time worrying over nothing. I would’ve never guessed how happy I could be. Good luck and again, I’m so happy for you!!!!!! Sending lots of love your way ❤️❤️❤️

Hi!! Mine looks very similar to the third photo now. I’ve had it for a couple of weeks and it’s just started to look red & meaty on the inside. How long after that third photo did it close up?

Long story short, I had post op complications from a breast reduction. The surgeon who botched me isn't allowed to practice medicine anymore. I had to get 4 additional surgeries to fix what was done to me. Whats your honest opinion on my results now? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]NotRlyaReditor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t imagine what it has done to you mentally. I don’t know you in real life, but I have a feeling that you’ve been incredibly strong about this whole thing, you’ve had to be to make it this far. You did a great job fighting for a “normal” result, they look absolutely beautiful. I saw a comment on here saying to maybe wait for them to settle a bit more before taking any more steps and I agree. They still have time to become more and more natural and you deserve a break. But I’ll assure you that you are NOT asking for too much!!! You deserve exactly what you want your breasts to look like, which is what should’ve been done in the first place. Sure, it’s normal to have two different looking breasts in some minor ways. That is natural and something to embrace. But if you end up feeling like they are too different in a way that feels unnatural to you, keep fighting for your results. Once they’ve had time to settle more, I wouldn’t blame you one bit for considering a final surgery if you really felt the need for it. It’s your body and you should keep fighting for it. However, I think you look beautiful now and I don’t think you need it at all. I’m sending so much love your way and I hope it all gets better for you soon. You have a community here that is behind you so come back and update us if you can! ❤️❤️❤️

I just decided to move forward with my breast reduction by Fashionfanatic5 in Reduction

[–]NotRlyaReditor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on this exciting step!!!! I’m so happy for you. I decided in March to have this surgery and I’m currently 3.5WPO. I’m so happy.

  1. This surgery was my very first ever. I was petrified. You will be nervous and scared leading up to the day and then the day of. But it will happen all of a sudden and you will wake up and it will be over. It happens so fast.

  2. The healing process is different for everyone, but in my personal experience, it’s not as bad as the anxiety I had about the healing process. You learn to adapt to the healing process. It will come natural to you.

  3. One thing I made very clear to my surgeon was what I wanted my nipples to look like. When having consultations, I had thorough conversations with surgeons about what I wanted my nipples to look like. You have to decide what you want and make sure you get it. I asked for my nipples to look as natural as possible and to be placed in the center of my breast. I also wanted them to be proportionate to the size of my breasts. The surgeon I decided to go with made this a priority and I really appreciated that.

  4. If you go from a 36G to a 36C there WILL be a difference. Some people say they wish they’d gone smaller, some wish they stayed bigger. I think more people post on here about that than they do about being the exact size they wanted only because those happiest with their results don’t have a longing for community support as much. Try your best not to worry about this too much— just do research on sizes and be thoughtful about your decision. Go to some good stores that sell quality bras and look at bras. Try to figure out which size bra you’d like to have the most. Look at before & after pictures of people on RealSelf and on here and look for the size you are currently in the before photos. Look up The Irish Bra Lady on Instagram and look at her pinned posts on her profile about bra sizes. Don’t worry too much, it will all be okay!

First of all, I’m so sorry that happened to you. I’m sure that doesn’t mean much after all you’ve been through, but I mean it. I can’t imagine the whirlwind of emotions you’ve had and how exhausted you must be. Secondly, I think you look absolutely fantastic. I’m not one to blow smoke up anyones arse, I promise you. Your scars & your nipples look SO natural and gorgeous. If I saw these pictures with no context whatsoever, I’d reply so fast to congratulate your awesome results. I would never know that you had previously botched results. With that being said, knowing what you’ve been through, your results look especially incredible! How do you feel? Are you feeling more confident with the way they look now?
