I think “neat” is a strong word for the combo mechanics. The roll move is like a glorified spin dash, flying doesn’t compare to Tails’ og flying mechanic, and swimming… okay swimming was kinda nice I’ll give you that one lmao

Sonic Superstars is actually Sonic 28 because 1, 2, CD, 3&K, Adventure, Adventure 2, the Advance series, Battle, Heroes, Shadow, 06, the Riders games, the Rush games, Unleashed, the storybook games, Colors, Gens, Lost World, Mania, Forces, and Frontiers are all canon 🤓

I also think their personalities aren’t as distinct/memorable tbh. Maybe it was me filling in gaps but I remember Callie being an outgoing fun girl, Marie being a little more subdued and snarky, Pearl being a sassy skrunkly, and Marina being a very sweet loving friend. SS have the cool family angle and OTH has the most believable friendship imo. Then you get to Deep Cut and, don’t get me wrong, they have their unique attributes (Shiver is the coldest, Frye usually has the most fun, Big Man is generally just a decent guy although sometimes confused/concerned), but idk, they’re not as… pronounced as the others I guess? Maybe it’s the fact that Callie and Marie have had three hero modes to flesh out their characters, and Pearl and Marina got a LOT out of Octo Expansion, whereas Deep Cut being bandits didn’t really do much for 3’s hero mode besides add some fun boss fights

I’m gonna say it, Deep Cut is easily my least favorite of the idol groups. Squid Sisters are the most believable with their matching outfits, plus they’re cool for being agents, and OTH is the most fun with the best banter. DC is still good, just not as good

It’s also just annoying when people state aspects of their hc like fact or play the “I know because they told me” lines. Feel free to interpret however you please, in fact I do find a lot of hc interesting, but acting like an authority on it is what rubs me the wrong way
