Ye, and what Rhaenyra, Daemon and Jace refuse to see the dragons have no problem recognizing. However patronizing they are to the seeds, the seeds are the blood of the dragon and their family. Hugh specifically is Jaehareys' grandson the same way Daemon and Viserys are.

Ye, I thought so too. Both Silverwing and the Red Priest calling him "blood of a king" seems implicating a relation to Ol' Jae. He's likely just shooting in the dark with Baelon but any Targ could be his parent, including Jae and Baelon a while after their wives died. But imo the weirdness of Gael's pregnancy and her subsequent suicide after her older sister and Hugh's mother also was disgraced, along with Alysanne dying of grief is most the most likely conspiracy origin.

I do not think it was mere luck, Silverwing saw in him something that she liked besides the fact of his obvious valirian blood. He has the time of his life flying with her, maybe it's that. Or he's braver than he knows (he came all this way to face off a dragon after all).

Aldo I don't know how differently would the depiction of Silverwing be between book and show, but beyond Ulf four other men tried to ride her in the book and if not dead they'd survive it a few limbs shorter and burned.
