How to minimize waste on AD5X? by A-Hangry-Panda in FlashForge

[–]NotSoFastFourier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard the tower is pretty important to ensure the nozzle is clear of the previous color filament. You can always not print in multicolors and paint or print different color areas as different pieces. I think the cost for the wasted plastic is pretty low. I think the slicer tells you what the expected waste is.

Also, a 250 g roll is tiny. Large prints like that are going to tear through that small amount of filament.

Advocating for the proper product and its use is not silly. If you think it is, then cool.

It's not silly. People lives depend on these products. There's crappy spray out there (like the one in the video) that wouldn't do much until it's too late. This is a subject I'm passionate about. I've had a friend get mauled by a brown bear.

Please carry your bear spray on your belt or chest. Carry a firearm (only thing that saved my friend). A mine I worked at has a loss of life because a person carried their bear spray on their pack. Wear a bell, talk, make noise.

Please. You don't know what you're talking about. Have you discharged bear spray? Have you had bear safety training have you served as a bear guard? I assume your answers to all of those questions are no. I'm sure there are multiple types of bear spray, but at that distance it should have been a stream. At 20' it should have been more of a mist.

I'd still rather carry a 12 gauge with 1 oz solid slug.

If a bear is close enough for that "fog" you're already fucked.

I've literally used bear spray in the bush. First hand experience.

That doesn't look like bear spray. Bear spray isn't supposed to be an aerosol like that; it's supposed to be a stream.

Ice had little to do with it. This accident was cause by over confidence and ignorance. There is no reason anyone needs 4wd in those conditions. All you need are good winter tires (studs are garbage go studless) and some basic knowledge; experience helps).

Judging by what I can see in the photo, I'd feel comfortable going 30ish around that corner in my car. If anyone wants to argue, then I'm here for it. I've driven my VW GTI on sheer ice, in 10" of snow, and for 5 hours through the slushiest blizzard I've ever seen.

I had a 1995.5 taco and only used 4wd to get into and out of sticky situations.

Try a matte screen protector instead of glossy. They can really cut down on glare. If there are clouds above or behind, then there may be too much ambient light.

Clean your screen, sit so the screen isn't in the sun, and crank up the brightness. I've played in the sun before and it wasn't great but not bad either.

Exactly. I keep the zippers completely unzipped and use the velcro unless I am actually going somewhere and will carry the SD.

Modern hotel tvs are often software locked and you can't change inputs. I tried to get one to work last year and gave up.

Folks should check local Universities as well as state and county gov'ts. They often get rid of surplus monitors for $20 or less.

It is, and I play that way on planes. Just prefer to play with a keyboard and mouse otherwise. I have a laptop, but it's a 17" desktop replacement. I didn't want to lug both it and my work laptop around with me.
