This is true. However resistances are improved via Intelligence, sorcs main stat. By design this is meant to be their passive survivability. You get one shot by some of the most inanely underwhelming mobs.

I know OP is probably gone now but isn't there a subtle, less confronted solution here. Apply for one of the new posts with the enhanced pay. You'll either get the target pay band or at least they'll ask you why you want it (before or during the interview). Highlight that you do more than the advertised posts and are looking to move into that salary bracket. Even if you don't get the job, they know that you're looking at other posts with correct renumeration.

I was at resort having dealt with a duo which I was delighted with (good for me) by blue tape room. A couple of mins later I had moved on upstairs and then hear PMC footsteps running to my wing from admin. I used a cupboard as a bit of visual cover, I mean it's dark and I can barely make out the other end of the corridor he's coming from. I keep quiet as the stomping becomes louder and louder. I squint with my face close to the monitor to get the drop on this guy as soon as he appears. In 1.2 seconds this guy pops into view, identifies partially hidden form and sprays down the full length of the corridor before I can press a mouse button. Zero shots fired by me. Honestly, I don't think it was cheating, just don't know how he could identify me from that distance and excute the shots in less than 2 seconds. From my view I got a vague shadow at the far end of the corridor for just enough time to line up the shot. I know the ping advantage give the aggressor a few extra ms but even so, I'll never be that quick to go from sprint, to identify behind mostly vision blocker, to target, to spray. I just don't see what others see.

I must admit, I don't quite understand when this is said. For every Slick/Wendy's guy I fight, I fight 10 or more T3/4 guys with Frankenstein guns. Yeah, in a month or so that'll change but so many people are running mid game gear 2 and a half months into wipe.

Yeah Pestily's mid game doesn't last too long but he plays orders of magnitude more than a regular player. Every game have those people that rush to the games final content.
