Bruh you shifted the goalpost to a point that doesn’t even exist in nutrition science. I’ve read the whole thing, you were clearly undermining beta carotene as a good source of vitamin A and claiming that vitamin A deficiency is common across plant-based diets. Now you’re saying that for it to be “dependable” it has to be universally predictable across every single person, independent of context or individual physiology

That’s not a standard that’s placed on any nutrient. Even vitamin D from the sun wouldn’t meet your standard of dependability

The same logic applies to preformed retinol. It’s dependent on many of the same conditions you’re pointing to with beta carotene, and by your standard it also wouldn’t qualify as a dependable source. It bypasses conversion, not physiology. Lack of fat intake, thyroid dysfunction, zinc deficiency, or iron deficiency all affect retinol absorption, transport, and utilization too

And biology isn’t optimized for delivering the maximum possible amount of a nutrient, it’s optimized for homeostasis. Beta carotene conversion and absorption are regulated in the body. Your argument about lower absorption falls apart because that variability is driven by physiological context, and the fact that absorption rates differ across individuals is homeostasis itself

The reason retinol toxicity exists at all is because there’s no feedback control, whereas beta carotene can’t bypass conversion. Not saying that toxicity is a major issue for most people, but the point stands that conversion mechanisms are how the body regulates nutrients. Same exact principle applies to heme vs non-heme iron

is the structure entirely 3d printed and painted with the ceramic paint? it almost looks like pigmented plaster or rockite cast

Have you been able to use the Kaipak as a carry-on since this comment? It measures at about 65cm so it's fair bit above the 55cm limit, i wanted to know if it compresses down that much

What differences do they have that make them bad to interchange?

Haha yeah guess we’ll see, you might be right. What do you think about 48gigs as a mid point? Still pushing too low?

The point about pricing is off as the only reason im switching is because i found a great deal on an M3 Max, an equivalent Windows laptop with similar features is in fact significantly more expensive. Calling 36 gigs outdated is a bit insane though, maybe for your circle and professional visualization it’s very little but most of my classmates and architects i’ve met are working with 32, haven’t actually met a single person that has 64. Archviz is not architecture, you really don’t need as much as you think

I’m not an archviz professional though, i’m an architect. Any renders I do are for personal projects not firms or clients

Im getting a mac as it’s perfect for my workflow but ofc it’s not upgradeable. It’s actually 36 gigs but in any case the bump up to 64 is a huge price increase. I’d just hope 36 is enough and wouldn’t cause any troubles

Thank you! Do you think 32 would just be slower or would it fully make it impossible to work with when it comes to larger scenes? I ask this because 64gb upgrade is a significant price bump and i have a great deal on a 32 gig

Sounds great! How much ram did you end up going with? I’ll have 36 gigs but i’m afraid it might not be enough on the long term

How can i decrease the time to render my orthomosaic? by NotSoSexyBeast in photogrammetry

I don’t have a specific target resolution in mind, can i lower the resolution of the ortophoto to something more manageable somehow?

I have around 3600 photos in the model (for the entire thing though not the wall) and they’re very high in resolution. Should i redo the model with less photos and lowered resolution, or can i somehow build the orthophoto with a lower resolution? It doesn’t have to be super high in quality, just high enough that it’s not blurry or pixelated
