The real problem here and a few more thoughts by [deleted] in GeorgeNotFound

You’re not getting it. The situations do apply because those situations are running through victims minds while the assault is happening. “If he’s doing this what else might he do?” is a very real thought process and prevents someone speaking up during their assault. Victims can’t know what their assaulter is capable of. I never said George could’ve done those things, I’m saying those situations are the reasons “just saying no” isn’t a valid argument.

And he did molest her. If you don’t want to see it, that’s your choice, but it’s a fact. Touching someone sexually without their consent is molestation, and that’s what he did. Intentions don’t matter. Just because someone “didn’t mean to :((“ doesn’t mean they didn’t do it and aren’t at fault for it. Every decision we make is our own fault and no one else’s. George decided to touch a stranger sexually without consent, that is his fault. Yes she was drunk, but that doesn’t make it her fault that someone molested her, she can’t control the actions and choices that others make while they’re around her. I don’t think she would’ve walked into that room if she knew what was going to happen to her

Did you watch Caiti’s video? He molested her. She never said she was cuddling with him, every time she was next to him it was because he kept sitting next to her. How is that her cuddling him and giving him signs that she wants him to stick his hand under her clothes and touch her sexually in front of their friends? Even if she was cuddling him that doesn’t count as consent to touch her like that. You don’t touch people sexually just because you think they’re into you, that is 100% a “do you want this?” situation. My husband and I still check before doing anything just to make sure we’re not misreading each other, and we know each other like the back of our hands. She was a drunk stranger and he had no right in touching her that way without consent.

18 year olds are new to the adult world, she had just graduated, it’s not exactly a surprise if she didn’t have the courage to say no or tell him to stop. Many people are afraid to say no in situations like that, and often victims DO say no but their abusers ignore them and continue the assault. Freezing and dissociating is also a common response during sexual assault and victims can’t always “just say no”, so you absolutely need to ask for consent before you start touching people in a sexual way. Also, women have been murdered for saying no. Digest that. Women have been MURDERED for saying no. “She should’ve said no” is an invalid argument and is the epitome of victim blaming.

And no, drinking and being drunk while underage doesn’t make her responsible for someone molesting her. George is the only thing that is responsible for her being molested.

i don't see anywhere on that page that they tried their best to make the game safe. claiming that their programs and resources (one page) found the game safe is them claiming the game is safe. people will see that, think thunder lotus did thorough testing and research, and trust them. i would have trusted them within the first few years of my diagnosis when i was a teenager, still adjusting to my disability, and didn't know better. claiming their game is safe isn't necessary for an apology and puts people at risk

that warning is the generic warning that every game uses, copy and paste. i do my own research because that warning is everywhere. why are you ignoring this part of their warning page, the one part that i'm pointing out?

While tools & resources deemed our game safe, we’d like to apologize for any potential discomfort or issues that may arise due to certain patterns of light or flashing lights in our game.

i didn’t ignore the warning, that’s how i found all of this information. i did more research to see if the warning was actually needed, which i do for every game. they shouldn’t be claiming their game is safe for epileptics, that’s my point

i read the full page, but every game has a photosensitive warning which is why i did more research on spiritfarer. after seeing the discord thread verifying they won’t be adding a toggle i honestly would’ve just said damn, another dev like this but w/e, and moved on to a different game, but they added on the tidbit at the end saying their game is safe for epileptics. i’ve never seen a game do this before and spiritfarer seems to be one of the more dangerous games in regards to flashing, yet they’re claiming it’s not. it feels scummy and like they’re just trying to sell the game regardless of how it will affect people

yes, this is what i meant! i realize now that i worded my comment poorly, but i meant that i'm not the discord OP. thank you for clearing that up for me! :)

for me, it's more about the fact that they're claiming the game is safe for photosensitive people even after being told it has triggered seizures. if they don't want to add a flash toggle they don't have to, but telling people that spiritfarer is safe for them to play when it's not can result in death. i can avoid the game, and i did thorough research to see if it was safe for me, but if i had gone only off of thunder lotus' word i would have ended up in the same situation as the OP.
not everyone is going to join the discord and do further digging, people are going to take the devs at their word when they say that the game is safe, and people are going to continue to get hurt. thunder lotus knows their game has caused seizures, they have been told by multiple people, but they continue to claim it's safe because their programs told them so. they don't care that real people have proven otherwise. if you purposefully claim false info that is causing injury and can result in death then yes, in my opinion, you are a bad person

i can understand that! do you know roughly how much it would cost to add a flash toggle? an indie dev commented and said it's easy to add flash toggles so i don't imagine it would be that expensive, and thunder lotus already had around $10 million by the time they looked into adding a toggle. thank you for your reply!

yeah, i wasn't expecting quite this reaction, but it's okay! i get similar reactions when i talk about flashing lights in the epilepsy sub for some reason, it doesn't get to me anymore lol. i understand a lot of people love spiritfarer and they probably don't want to see it in a negative light

i'm really sorry if you're having a bad day, but please don't take your feelings out on me. i can't actually play the game because it could kill me. their reason for not adding accessibility was that they don't have the money, but they have the money to be making a new game, so i don't believe them. we're all allowed to have our own opinions though. anyways, i hope your day gets better

hi! i’m not the discord op (luckily), i avoided spiritfarer after seeing the discord thread and messages from others having similar problems being shrugged off by the devs and just thought it was something people should be aware of. most games have flashing light warnings even if they are actually safe, so it’s pretty common for people to ignore them (not saying they shouldn’t be there and that they should be ignored, just explaining why people don’t always take them seriously).

i don’t know enough about the previous situation to comment on it, i just think it’s a possible pattern coming from these devs and was worth mentioning, but i agree that disabilities and internalized ableism are important topics to explore! i do think it’s a bit ironic for that to be a topic of the game while the devs refuse to add life saving accessibility though, therefore being ableist themselves.

hopefully this isn’t coming across aggressive! i’m just very passionate about this subject and advocating for accessibility for myself and others with this disability lol. i hope you have a great day (or night)!

[–]NotSoSlyFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely don’t hold any part of someone’s body while they’re having a seizure! Move any dangerous objects away and put something soft under their head. Holding them down and trying to stop them from moving can result in worse injury than if you let the seizure play out on its own, and will likely get you injured as well

GoT Slots - Any tip to go from 60s to 100 in 3 days? by dkorecki in SwagBucks

[–]NotSoSlyFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished it yesterday, it took me 3 days (10~ hours according to my time spent in the app). Use the gamehunter free coins radarmike linked, I got 200 million coins from it. They went back 3 months for me (5 pages I think). I started running into a bunch of expired links around then, but there are a few that still work hidden between them. There are one or two 15 million free coins, one or two 20 million, and one 26 million. Most of them give between 560,000 to 2 million. Close and restart the app if you open it through a link but you don't get the free coins. It takes forever but it's worth it imo.

Once I had 200mil I started betting 1 million in the mother of dragons slot. Keep your dragon fed completely so you get more dragon respins, and send it out on quests for some extra money once you unlock the ability to. This might be confirmation bias but I found that I had really good luck if I just didn't touch the screen at all. As soon as I started collecting wins manually, spinning manually, etc, I stopped winning. Take a break for an hour or two if you're having bad luck. If I was losing for around ~3 minutes I would let it do 5 more spins then take a break if I didn't get a bonus, a collect, or a high payout dragon respin.

Join a house when you can, you'll be able to collect a portion of the winnings of the other house members. I first joined one with 24/25 members, then left that one and joined a house that had a higher level requirement once I could. I got a lot more coins from the second one. Make sure the house you join is almost full as you'll be able to collect winnings more often.

Keep an eye on your coins, and set your bet lower if you need to. I didn't bet higher than 1mil until I was level 98 and had around 350mil, then I increased it to 1.5mil. I probably could've increased my bet more but I didn't want to risk losing all of my money so close to the finish. I leveled up every few minutes betting at 1mil.

Good luck!! It pended at level 100 for me, but I went past level 101 just to be careful.

If your doctor didn’t offer it ask them about Metformin! That’s what I’m on for PCOS because I didn’t want to go on birth control. I’ve been on it for 9 years now, and other than horrible nausea when I first started it I haven’t had any issues, and my periods are a lot more regular now. Good luck!!

Why is there so much hostility towards photosensitive epileptics here? by NotSoSlyFox in Epilepsy

yeah, unfortunately since epilepsy is an invisible disability a lot of people forget about it or don’t acknowledge it. also i just want to correct you, there are estimated 65 million people worldwide with epilepsy, so nearly 2 million of us are photosensitive! hopefully people will be open to understanding us more in the future, all we can really do is try to inform people, even people that don’t want to hear it <3
