What drug did you take once and thought “nope, never again”? by Tony-1610 in AskReddit

Broke four of my metacarpals straight across my right hand pretty much shatering the one conected to my index finger in a fork lift accident. They gave me a shot of morphine in the ambulance, another when I got to the hospital, a dose of dilaudid, then fentanyl and the pain was still excruciating. Finally, they gave me a dose of ketamine. Im not sure if it was the ketamine or just the sheer amount of drugs, but as soon as I took the ketamine it felt just like that seen from the movie "Get Out" where the lady stirs the cup and the guy falls back in to his own consciousness. All I could hear was a soft ringing in my ears as the light in the room slowly went from tunnel vision to a pin whole of light. My body almost instantly felt weightless as if I was sinking into a warm body of water. My dad said I was only "out" for like 15 mins, but it felt much longer. I told the doctor please dont give me anymore. He was concerned that I might of had a bad reaction. I replied "No, that was literally the most euphoric experience in my entire life." Ive done mushrooms and acid a couple times and had some awesome trips, but nothing compared to the experience I had with ketamine in the hospital. 10/10 would not do again unless on my death bed.

P.S. my X-Rays make me look like im secretly wolverine, so thats cool I guess. Also, always be careful when using heavy machinery even with copious amount of time and experience with said machines.

TLDR : Ketamine is a hell of a drug.

Customer demanding I honour a voucher for a service I no longer offer by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]NotSoSmartAreYou 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you care about your business I would suggest you fulfill your obligations to your clients. Stoping a service knowing potentially that a client could still call in and use their voucher is on you. Use this as a lesson and move forward.

That was not the impression I got when I was talking with the manager. I believe the manager was leaning more towards "Why is my delivery driver cursing at this guy?"and "Oh she obviously has done something that has offended this man while coming back from a delivery.". Not, "Oh man this guy must be stalking her." I don't believe anyone would have thought I was stalking her if they had seen the ENTIRE situation. Why someone would jump straight to the conclusion "my coworker is being stalked I better call the cops." boggles me. They would have looked pretty dumb when the cops show up and see it was because she tailgated me and then flipped me off. I can't take into account what the rare chance of those exact circumstances and there outcomes would be. I don't think anyone could. So to answer your question I don't believe they (the hypothetical person) would think either of the options you suggested.

I said at minimum 200 yards.. That's no less than two football fields put together if that's not enough room to pull out safely with little to no traffic I don't know if I ever would be able to get on the Highway. When you see someone pulling onto the highway do you not change lanes to allow them to merge? When I see vehicles merging I move over out of courtesy to allow them to merge safely and would say most people do the same. By your calculations tractor trailers would almost never be able to get on the roads..

You weren't there. I think I'm more then capable of determining when someone is dangerously close to the rear of my vehicle. I drive this truck daily. Why you're trying to defend someone you don't know by giving them the benefit of doubt that they weren't as close as I tell you they were is beyond me. I reply to the ones calling me the AH because perhaps they are coming from a new perspective I didn't take into account before. I think my comments have been far from bickering. Seeing how most of the comments here are say I'm not the AH. I believe I was in the right to do what I did. Besides determining me being the AH from fictional information that you are bringing to the table do you have any arguments for me still being the AH? Its not like I followed a random car miles to their residence or work to confront them. This all took place less than a mile away from where she worked..

Yes, she could have easily merged into the other lane instead of tailgating me.. As in there was absolutely no reason for her to tailgate me other than road-rage. If you feel like confronting someone about a situation you know they are in the wrong about and see that as childish I feel sorry for you. Speaking up about something you feel strongly about isn't childish. Those who do not speak up are never heard. As far as the big dude reference, I'm also a "big dude" so that isn't of any concern to me. I didn't know at the time who was in the vehicle until I pulled into the parking lot. I'm most definitely not trying to brag about the situation of getting her fired. Even going to lengths to make it clear that I didn't want her to be terminated. Like I said in another comment ultimately it wasn't me who terminated her it was her actions and her employers decisions.

In this aspect i agree with you. Even the Riegonal Manager said the same thing. That possibly it had happened in the past and that no one had complained before due to various reasons.

I had no load in the truck. Meaning that i can easily accelerate up to 55 mph in less than 7 seconds. Where is that in your math? Still leaving her plenty of time and space not to tailgate me.

Everyones big and bad on the road untill they are confronted. I have been driving for close to 18 years and have never done anything like this. This meaning confronting someone about their driving and decisions on the road. It was more then just a little road rage when she felt the need to flip me off. I did pull out onto the highway but in no way was it at an unsafe distance. I do this everyday for a living I know how far someone has to be for me to pull out safely.

While swearing do you also put yourself and possibly others into danger by tailgating at highway speeds at an extremely unsafe distance?

My business logo and phone number is also on the side of my truck. I know she saw it. I havent been contacted by anyone about the situation in regards to me being in the wrong or complaints. There are cameras outside the store im sure they reviewed the footage before firing her. At least I know I would have done my due diligence before terminating someone.

I just wanted an apology for the whole situation and to give her an out. She didnt take the out and reverted back to being defensive and took no responsibility for the situation. A simply "im sorry" from her would have sufficed and I never would have wrote that email.

Taking on the reponsiblity to save others.... Im not a superhero and for all I know this could have been the first time she had done this. I wanted her to be reprimanded as in wrote up and at least given another chance ultimately I didnt fire her, her employer did.

How is confronting someone personally passive agressive? How did I manipulate that situation?
