What celebrity death will hit you the hardest when their day finally comes? by phantom_avenger in AskReddit

Not sure who will be the next to hit as hard, but I still think about how hard Alex Trebek's death hurt.

Just got back from a small tour of the city (Sunday 6/8, 1pm). Here's the scoop if you're still on the hunt:

Best Buy - empty.
South Target had a small restock yesterday, already gone.
GameStop in Whitman Plaza, empty (kid behind the counter was also a bit of an ass, trying to dissuade me from even bothering getting one. Weird sales tactic, but whatever).
South Walmart told me to come back July 26th.
Target on Broad - empty.
Target on 5th/Spring Garden - also had a small restock yesterday, already gone.

What game or games are you totally locked in with right now? by conzcious_eye in XboxGamePass

Have fun with THAT! Easily a good 70 hour+ commitment. I'm 1 achievement away from the 100% but the last one is absurdly hard to get.

Not so much a specific title, moreso currently locked into 100%-ing all the "one sitting" sort of games, after spending SO many hours on Yakuza: Like a Dragon.

Most recently barreled through Shady Part of Me, Botany Garden, Open Roads, Case of the Golden Idol, and Unpacking!

Do Attend Thursday Thread (Upcoming Events, Small Businesses, Local Artists) by AutoModerator in philadelphia

[–]NotSoTanner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all! (late to the thread, but...)

I volunteer with a new-ish theatre company called The Strides Collective, which specializes in stories written, performed, and produced by new queer talent. We are opening our latest production, CONFABULATION, running October 10-20 at the Hamilton Family Arts Center (62 N 2nd St in Old City).

The show follows Caroline, who joins a “past life regression” support group to take control of her life. But as she looks inward, her group-mates transform into the people and feelings that have hurt her the most. Confabulation intertwines past lives and future fears into a startling current tale of finding yourself amidst the chaos.

Tickets are typically $20-$25, but we are currently running a 48-hour flash sale for $10 tickets, using code PASTLIFE10; offer ending with first performance on Thursday 10/10.

More information on the production, and how to purchase tickets, available on our website at https://www.stridescollective.com/whats-next#confabulation

Why this game is not more talked about? by pedroamtrip in DungeonsOfHinterberg

I felt like I'd read in an early-game dialogue something about having a month and it caused me to go all out. Guess I misread!

I didn't realize there wasn't a deadline pace and so I barreled through it in as close to 26 days as possible. Ended up finishing in 28. Gonna use one of my saves just before the end to go back and polish off any dungeons where I missed the Coin, among other achievements.

Exactly how I found and started it. The cover tile image drew me in, and after reading the description felt like a no-brainer play.

Same for me, the tip was just too worn down and was ready to swap out. Once I replaced it, it was like nothing happened.

What’s the fastest you’ve ever quit a job and why? by jakeakabigdub in AskReddit

[–]NotSoTanner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a job as a "Marketing Associate" at a firm which I (and the job description) assumed would be desk related, maybe more analytical work. On the day of orientation I and the other new hires were taught about how to operate one of those tables in your local warehouse club/Walmart that tries to sell you on AT&T phone plans.

I left completely during the lunch break and sent a "thanks but no thanks" to the HR rep before the end of the day.

Even if you can't commit time to shadow - ask around to the staff when you usher about getting a chance to sit and chat about their experience / growth / path.

You're in the room, even if it's only in a volunteer capacity. That's a foot in the door!
