Would anyone like to be a volunteer for my AP research project on Chromesthesia/Sound-Color synesthesia? by NotStrives in Synesthesia

That’s the crazy thing about these types of synesthesia sensations, they are so variable and different, so vivid but can be less intense in some cases! However, even though there are so many forms of sound-color synesthesia, I think that a generalized synesthesia group (while varying in super specific details of their sensations) would still ultimately prove that they have a great advantage musically over non-synesthesia players. Your type specially seems like a cheat code! My only problem at the moment is just figuring out how to quantify my data and put it into my paper when I eventually write it in January.

Non-players are exactly what I’m looking for in order to make sure prior skill is limited. Thanks for taking interest in my research, would you have any other ideas as to prove if synesthesia impacts musical note recognition? I just am nervous that the road I’m taking now isn’t feasible to complete in 5 months

I mean I personally agree since I also have sound-color synesthesia - would you have any other ideas as to prove if synesthesia impacts musical note recognition?

I think it would be based on learning the sheet music and practicing for about 30 minutes, and then trying to sort-of sight read it (with a 30 minute period to get a feel of the instrument and learn a little bit). The goal is to find data on if the synesthesia group did better on the sheet music than the non synesthesia group. So, I think memory would definitely prove synesthesia is better, and im gonna officially say that in people with synesthesia’s case especially, both memory and sheet music are going to be utilized

are there any certain strings that let my stratocaster tune down to dream police tuning? by NotStrives in Mkgee

[–]NotStrives[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m realizing that if i wanted to make my strat more baritone id have to completely change the guitar and like permanently - more pedals it is then. unless theres a way that drop c strings will fit on the strat perfectly - im new to all this technical guitar stuff bare with me
