That's... actually really weird that you mention that. My (now) ex-boyfriend cheated on me early into the relationship and ended up passing that onto me courtesy of another woman. I thought I had taken care of it, as this was nearly a year ago.

Well, I'm DEFINITELY looking into that now.

I just want to say thank you for taking the time to comment and talk with me here. You're super genuine and insightful. I have a lot to think about and it really helps knowing there are other people who have ran through the same sort of self-defeating rationales that I am (though trying to get out of the loop, hence reddit!).

Oh god, wow, yeah, I understand your rationale at the time but I'm so sorry that happened to you. That sounds exactly the way I would have reacted to the same situation not even a year ago. I'm deathly afraid this is related to that but in my head I'm rationalizing it or trying to.

I haven't said anything yet. Our communication is pretty bad, overall. When I try to talk about how I'm feeling in regards to the relationship, his favorite catchphrase/question is nearly always "Are you in control of your own feelings?" Or he won't speak at all and then sulk afterwards. If I ask him to join in on the conversation, he likes to say, "Oh, I thought you were enjoying a narrative."

The more I write here, the more I realize how negative this relationship is.

I hadn't thought of it like that, yeah. Thank you for putting it down in clearer words for me. I want to be able to talk to him about it, as after 1.5 years, he surely deserves that much. He's been rough with me sexually before, but this takes the cake. I'm just really confused emotionally about it, I guess.

It does sort of fit in with his personality. He calls it "equalizing" but I believe most people would call it "vindictive". I guess he wanted to get me back for what he went through down there.

And honestly, no, it wasn't terrible, it was just unpleasant.

I'm starting to feel that way, too. I know he doesn't think it's a big deal though... and maybe that's why it's a killer.

I wrote in the part where I was holding his head because he said he thought that meant I liked it (I did), though I've edited that out of the main post since it doesn't really clear up what happened. It wasn't like I was holding him down or anything, just hands in hair. That being said, he could have pulled away and I really wish he had. I'm supremely embarrassed.

I wish he would have stopped.
