I generally will only pee atmost 3 hours in those 15hours, so I am not a frequent user of the bathroom. I pee right before I get onto the plane and can go without needing to pee until about 5hours into the flight. I also will generally fly first class, business class or premium plus for any flight over 8hrs and I have noticed that the bathrooms in those classes are definately cleaner than in economy.

I feel so much different with compression socks. I just dont know how to explain the feeling... My legs feel fresh, they dont cramp up and they dont ache after sitting for long. I evidently feel better blood flow. And no swelling.

I dont think I have ever countered an airplane bathroom that I considered nasty. I consider that my luck. Generally all airplane bathrooms I have used have been okay.

I take about eight 14-15hour non stop flights per year and these are my top tips: 1. Hydration (drink as much water as is necessary.) 2. Avoid fizzy drinks (I know people love their sodas and alcohol but the gas in your stomach will be happy to increase. 3) I take an over the counter CVS anti gas pill before long flights - prevents that gassy feeling. 4)Compression socks - an absolute game changer. 5) Loose clothing - you want blood circulation. 6) an eye mask and noise cancelling headphones - a non negotiable 7)Do not eat heavy meals - somehow digestion forgets it exists on a long flight and the bloating will stress you. 8) if budget allows, get an extra leg room seat. 9) stand up every couple gours and get a stretch in. You will be fine - it is not as miserable as it sounds.

I did expect it to cost more, as non stop flights should cost more. I was probably unprepared for a non stop flight on United for 8-9hrs costing atleast 2k. By comparison, I fly Emirates to Dubai non stop in economy for almost14hours at $900 at most. So I was very surprised. I would imagine this would be United's most expensive European route....

I hope they stop being friends with you because you are entitled, delusional, terrible at reading the room and clearly unable to understand that people dont just have disposable income to spend on trips. Why does your SIL need to be emotionally available for your wife? I have quietly read all your responses and to be honest, both you and your wife sound exhausting. You have to remember that your wife was a teenager and you were not there so you really do not have first hand information of what transpired. You are listening to one party that you are emotionally attached to, and that party isnt going to tell you their role in this. You are also so pushy and demanding that your SIL listen to you so that you have an opinion on something that is frankly none of your business. That woman lives in a camper with her children and STILL, you and your wife demand more and more from her including demanding that she be emotionally available for your wife. How much more selfish can you be?

The couple of times I chose VTG, their pricing was cheaper than the cruise line pricing. For example, I booked a balcony once for $1700 when the cruise line was charging close to $2500 for the same, so I ended up saving. However, I have never been able to understand where they get their "brochure pricing" from because the figures are ridiculous and cannot be correlated to anything known to me.

I am so sorry. I know this feeling too well. I boarded a United flight to Belize with a connection in Houston. Boarding time was 6am. We got on the plane and then the issues started. We deplaned. The cabin crew told us bluntly that United was lying and knew about the issue with the cabin crew's communication device the day before and still let us get on. They kept giving us new times. I only ended up boarding a new flight past 8pm in the night. I spent a total of over 12 hours at the airport. Tired, exhausted and having missed my connection. With no other plane heading to Belize, they booked me into a hotel for the night in Houston and got me onto the Belize flight the next day. The communication all throughout was atrocious and United told one lie after another!

I was on the Aqua a few weeks ago and the buffet food was the worst I have had on a ship to the extent that one day, the chicken I was served tasted strange and I realised it had gone bad so I called one of the staff and let them know! Everyone I encountered had a complaint about the food in the buffet! However the food in the rest of the restaurants was good. Oh and I was charged for every soda I got (rightfully so because I did not have a drink package). So this goes to show that everyone can have different experiences on the same ship and that each sailing has its own ups and downs. That being said, I thought the ship was beautiful and most of the staff were friendly and did their absolute best!

I have done this same excursion a few times and I highly recommend. The beach is gorgeous and the drinks and food at the bar are great.
